Hi JM,

Is there any significance to the book which was dropped?
I try to look at what ghosts do in light of what a 'nomral person' would do and try to see things from a ghost's perspective. Given how difficult it must be to interact with our realm, this must require planing, energy and practice on a ghost's part. So with this in mind, I'm wondering if this woman manifested to you after walking away from your room, moving the door to communicate this to you, perhaps this woman was trying to tell you something through the book she *chose* to drop/move. Maybe it wasn't as 'random' as it appeared. She then manifested to you out of politeness in a confiriming manner as if to say 'that was me'.
Unless she was grimacing at you or wielding an axe when she showed herself, I wouldn't rule out an attempt at communicating something to you. She probably knows you're interested in ghost hunting anyway. 😉
Just a thought.

Razorback, there are a few things I don't share on this site because it would make us (my husband and I) sound completely bonkers. While I've never played pool with a ghost. My husband does some pretty bizarre-o-rama things with an entity I'll submit about soon. I've omitted details from our story with this being because they sound so freaking far fetched! So I can imagine using sound/knocks as a communication method for playing pool.

If you and your family aren't bothered by these spirits that's fine. Although you should always protect yourself while investigating the spirits wandering around here (wherever here is) they won't entice evil spirits.

Mana&red: I understand how extremely fake this sounds. I really do and if you don't believe me then that's fine. I'm sure if roles were reversed I would be like I'm not to sure about that. But like I said my self I had to see it to believe. To actually elaborate on when my buddy told me about this I said "bull crap dude I don't buy that crock" he looked at me and said "dude I ain't feeding you crap come watch." As we walked towards his basement he said out loud "if you want to play billiards I'm going to play." My thought? More bullcrap he is going to pull some prank when we get there. I sat down he set the game up and broke. Then I saw it. I had no words at all I just stared and gauked at it. But you are welcome to ask me questions or what have you. I really don't mind.

JM. I second red on this case. Thanks for steady updates!

Redwolf:
None of the spirits have shown any interest in violence. No violent outbursts have ever occurred. It seems as though they just don't want to be forgotten. They don't really bother us, but I always fear that those spirits wandering around here could entice something more evil to come here. That is why I take precautions before and after investigations.

From the description you give of what you see out of the corner of your eye is perhaps someone who died while trying to save someone in the fire. If you see this more than once and other family members have seen this it is a residual haunting. If you see other things in the house and it bothers you a respected member here has a Cleansing/Shielding method that has worked for many people but sometimes has to be repeated to make sure every spirit is gone. Although it will not get rid of peaceful spirits. If you want to use it the name of the member is Rookdygin and he has the Cleansing/Shielding method on his profile page.

A pool playing spirit? Pfft. I would need to see this IN PERSON to believe it!

Jm: the system they both use is sounds. They asked the spirit to please "knock" if it was about to enter an area. So you will hear knocks randomly. Sometimes they are seen others they are not but it works well for both parties! Something to try.

Mana&jm: I tried one time to video tape. I don't think the being paticularly liked the idea because my phone crashed so to speak. Ended up having to buy a new phone for $50. I asked my friend about it and he said he tried to video tape a match but when he did it the spirit threw the stick across the room and actually refused to play for a week. My thinking is because the spirit is not very skilled. I beat him in a game and he got upset and threw the pool stick to the ground. He is an extremly sore loser haha but has never hurt anyone over a game. He typically acts out by throwing a stick or knocking a ball to the ground. So as funny and untrue as it may seem he has "ghost tantrums" 😜 😜

I was thinking exactly the same
Thing. I would love to see that! That would be an incredible piece of evidence that would be very difficult to explain.

Razorback95--I gotta question you about a comment you made in this thread in response to Mimi81. You wrote, "I have a friend who plays pool with his spirit in his basement! I know it sounds crazy but I never would have believed it until I saw it. Although the spirit will only play if it's a one on one game". What!? Are you suggesting the pool cue picks itself up, considers shots and then hits the pool ball? I would imagine you filmed this once in a lifetime paranormal evidence on your phone at the very least. Where can we check out this incredible evidence 😜

I'm glad that you understand how I feel when they just appear. What kind of system do those people use?

Mimi: I have a friend who actually plays pool with his spirit in his basement! I know it sounds crazy but I never would have believed it until I saw it. Although the spirit will only play if its a one on one game.

Jm: I know exactly how you feel. Its very startling when they just appear. I would say its something you just have to get use to but some never fully can so I'm not going to just shove that on you. Maybe try to communicate with them to see if you can set up a "system" of sorts so you don't get the living crap scared out of you but they can still roam freely? I have heard two people tell me this worked great for them! Thanks for updates!
Razor.

I know it's not the boo thing. I had an extremely polite, considerate entity as a "roommate" for 13 years. It's caused me to have high expectations of paranormal behavior.

Mimi81:
They aren't just popping out of nowhere like "BOO!" type of thing. It's just I turn my head for one second and where there wasn't anyone, there's (partially) someone there I've never seen before and they are just minding their own business (most of the time). They are not trying to scare us, but we get startled when we see them. That's really all it is.

Mimi81:
Thanks for the advice and I will research when I can. And as far as I know they only things we had preowned were our hand-me-down possessions. And even some of those have turned up missing years ago. Still, I will attempt to keep y'all updated. Like I said before, the spirits haven't shown in inclination to violence towards my family in the 16+ years that we've lived here. Maybe that's a good sign that there's not a whole lot of anger.

The popping out of nowhere and startling you is just rude. It's probably meant to be rude.

JM, I'm sorry your dad won't let an investigation happen. You can still research on your own. Start by contacting a local university or historical society. Let them know you need information about the property during the Civil War and Reconstruction. There were some areas in the South that had extreme violence during Reconstruction. All the anger didn't end when the war ended.

If you don't find your answers in that time period, keep digging. The more information you have the more empowered you are.

If your research on the house and land doesn't turn up a anything, you might consider objects in the house. Did anyone in your family acquire an antique or something preowned around the time the problems began?

Good luck. Please keep us posted on what you find.

I don't mind living with my spirits either. It's just when they pop up out of nowhere and startle me. I've been living with them or a very long time, and none of them have done anything violent in the years we've lived here.

Very fascinating story! But I want to say you are not stuck. Research research reasearch. That's key. The better you know your spirits the more you know how to deal with them. But you may find that after research you may not mind them much. I don't mind my spirit any more.

Thank you for posting! 😁

I would love to have an investigation crew over, and my mother wouldn't mind, but my father would tell them to get off of his property or else. He doesn't believe and absolutely nothing will convince him otherwise.

You said you "have no choice but to live with them". That's not true. Since your parents own the house, would they be agreeable to a reputable paranormal investigative group coming in? The more knowledge you have about what's in the house the more options you have in dealing with the situation.

After you get more answers, your parents could have someone come into to bless and/or cleanse the house.

If your parents don't want to do anything and the situation makes you uncomfortable, move. You have the right to feel comfortable where you live.

Upon further research, the old trail by my home is actually an old wagon road that was utilized by Confederate forces during the Civil War. It would explain some of the things that we have seen.
