Hi Kindly refrain--Really enjoyed reading the account of your ghostly audial experience at The Olde Angel Inn. It certainly seems you are on the right track with your theory that you were hearing a replay of the violent death of Captain Swayze.

A violent occurrence like that would theoretically be the perfect type of intense situation to remain etched in the stone and wood of the inn. As a side note, I love southern Ontario and have vacationed on rural and beautiful Amherst Island (west of Niagara) a couple of times. Although that island seems like a prime place for paranormal activity, I never experienced any there.
