Tweed, I've had a few experiences with the color red. Not in a room, but in a mind vision, if that makes sense. I also have the color pop into my mind like a filter when I have certain memories of rooms in houses I lived in as a child.
Those memories are good associations, whereas the color red I see in my mind visions are frightening to me and I usually have to cut these experiences off. In my mind visions, it starts out usually that I see either a very faraway face or head which is in a red environment, including the face. The face has black on parts of it which gives it the depth for me to see what it is. What happens next usually happens quickly. The face sees me and zooms up very close to me with a very eager expression. The next thing I know more of the red faces suddenly 'pop' into existence and start zooming in to me and crowding to the point that there is no room and all of the red faces are desperate and their mouths are moving. It is hard to get away from. Now when I get the first sign of one of the red faces or heads, I immediately cut it off and refocus my mind on anything else so that I can avoid the onslaught. I always wondered why these faces were red. My good red room associations are just memories of nice rooms and they just happen to be bathed in a red translucent wash.

Wow! Is this called a Spiritual vision? I know of a psychic whom also can see those in historical monuments and places. One of the TV show she described her being able to see parts of the historical event but most would be covered with something like a Mosaic, do you see strange images in your case?

Tweed--I have been thinking about this account since reading it earlier today. First of all, what an incredibly twisted tale of murder made all the more intense by it occurring in a house you knew so well. I have never heard of another account where one "sees" a room as if through a green filter but a search around the internet did turn up one similar type of phenomenon.
On a site that discusses different colored orbs, the writer states that he believes green orbs are associated with human spirits. By the same course and reason, perhaps the green filtered color you saw in the lounge room of the house was associated with the spirit of the murdered woman. Instead of picking up on a voice or an apparition, you were possibly just sensing a strange residual trace of the unfortunate spirit of the murdered woman.
A fascinating and typically well told account--thanks for sharing it!

Tweed,
It is interesting that you would see the color green while feeling Fear and wanting to escape. Now I am not in touch with the paranormal as you are, although I wish I was. But could it have been a residual color like you suggested and not of black or grey which I would imagine would be associated of fear, but maybe of her favorite color trying to say that she is in the house? Also have you ever had the room change colors like that before anywhere else?

1) She was suffocated with something of this colour and I experienced this empathetically through a residual type of energy.
2) Her body was wrapped in something of this colour. Even though Dad's mate found a hand protruding from soil, her hand could've moved on its own over the years as part of decomposition. She may have been wrapped in something of this colour underneath the soil.
3) The killer's disguise may have included a bright green dress or something.
4) The colour somehow represented the emotions of what happened.
Whatever the reason for that colour, I'm sure it was significant somehow.
Manafon, I've never heard of this kind of colour weirdness either. Thanks for looking it up, it's interesting that others have theorised about orb colours and their significance. On the very rare occasions I've seen a person's 'aura', most of these times it's this very shade of green. Maybe these experiences in this lounge room made me more sensitive to this colour, I don't know. Or maybe this colour is strongly connected to human energy in general. I don't know much at all about auras or orbs but that human green link is very interesting. Do you know how the human/green theory came about?
Roylynx, I don't know what the term Spiritual Vision means, but it sounds like that woman experiences residual memories of past events maybe. I didn't in this room, only that colour and the mood. I've never experienced what she describes, it sounds very cool!
DandK, far out! I've got no idea what that could be. Maybe something like what Roylynx describes about sensing events or, in your case, faces from a location's past.
