Glad to see it wasn't just me lol it was driving me crazy having to go through and reclick the one's I could remember reading already, and still missing a lot of others that I don't remember off hand. But with seeing nothing being said over it, I wondered if it was just me. I wish there was a way to update without having that happen, but I guess that's just a small price we have to pay for our mods to keep this a safe, and secure site.

I think it may be the switch to the secure https protocol. I use my phone and the same browser every time I visit the site (no option for 'good' internet in the boonies) and haven't cleared my cache in quite awhile. I noticed the color change about a week and a half ago and chalked it up to some sort of site glitch. Now I know what's up 😊
Thanks for the heads up Martin

Twilight, I sincerely think Martin has hit the nail on the head. You're using a different device /different browser.
Yes, Martin did mention changing to https, which just means the site is secure. I guess the easiest way to explain it is it keeps your information safe from hackers, all communications between your browser and the website are encrypted. This might have reset your browser. (Cleared your 'read' list.) It should settle down.
I know some phones offer an 'auto clear cache' when you close the internet app. Maybe your husband has this set?
New comments always show up under the 'new comment' listing no matter how old the story. So no worries.

The way browser works is they check if you've already visited a page, say this one:
And then, for convenience, change links to this page to the color for visited links, in our case, brown to black.
However, since the http protocol change, the address to the page is now:
There's a slight difference (see the "s", for "secure"), since it's not exactly the same, it's not considered already visited anymore.

Same thing happened to me. It happened the day after g-mail "updated", (if it ain't broke, don't fix it dammit!), a few days ago and I attributed it to that.
I like that Martin has given us an out by blaming himself. Thanks Martin! Lol

Val, the email I used to start my page here was my husbands, but I rather not keep using his. I'm horrible with technology lol, and when I use to have my own email, it decided to have a mind of its own, and locked me out of it some how. As for your questions, I always use my phone for this site, as I don't have a laptop, well that's working that is lol, and the first time this problem happened, it was after I haven't visited to this site in a few months, which I just assumed that's why it happened, but the recent one which was just the other day, was with me still using this site everyday. The only thing I can think of that I've done differently recently is letting my 3 year old daughter watch videos on my phone, to where I ended up using my husbands phone to log on here, and read more stories, which I know I did not log back out. So not sure if that could be why it happened this time 😕 I see Martin said something about recently updating the site or something? Maybe that could be what's happening, to where the stories I've read are no longer marked 😕 thanks everyone for getting back to me so quickly on this topic, as it's been driving me crazy trying to figure out why it keeps happening, but wish I was able to make it stop doing it. I hope I caused no trouble asking this question where I did, I would have just wrote my question here, but I wasn't sure how ya'll check new comments from old stories. I really enjoy this site, and appreciate all of ya'll being so great and helping whenever needed ❤ thank you all again!

Normally a change of color on a link means that it has been visited, however, this only works within the history of your current browser, if you check it again with another browser or device (or if you intentionally erase your browser history), then it will revert back to its original color. Another consideration, the site has recently switched to the secure https protocol, so all previous browsing history since that date has been reset.

Miracles, on mine stories I have read turn black, the rest remain that tan/brown color. Doesn't seem to matter if I faved it, commented or not. 🤔

Okay, my theory is shot. There are three stories on my favorites list that are black font (on my phone). I checked and not one of them has had recent comments. Also, since one of them isn't a favorite poster, that eliminates the possibility that the black font titles are stories from favorite posters.
Interestingly enough, none of the stories on my laptop were in black so I chose one at random, opened the story, then closed out the site. Reopened and it is still black.
Once again I am clueless lol

Twilight,
I'm not sure why you don't have email, because you needed one in order to join. None the less - we'll try and work this out. 😊
No one else has mentioned the story menu 'unchecking' their read stories, so I'll need to ask some questions before I can advise you, ok?
Is this a recent problem? Were the two times you mentioned separated by months, or close together? Does this happen WHILE you are on site, or after you've left and then returned?
Are you using a PC (Desktop), laptop, or your phone?
I'm not sure if you have the ability to, but you might try viewing the site via a different device other that the one you normally use, and see if the problem persists. If you borrow a public/ or friend's remember to log out.
I'm trying to determine if it's a computer problem or a site problem. Once you get back to me, then I can determine our next step. 😊

Twilight - I've noticed that same thing and the only thing, at the time, that made a little sense to me was if someone had commented on one the stories I had favorited. I have no clue if that is what causes it or not 😆

Greetings, Twilight.
My first thought was that there may be a factor in the bedroom you're using which is not present in any other room of the house. Have you tested it for electromagnetic fields which may be due to old wiring in the house? A faulty junction box would interfere not only with sleep patterns, but also with perceptions during the day; your husband "saw shadow figures, on our bedroom walls... He has said to have seen this happen while awake too. But would write it off" (How, exactly, did he justify writing this off? You're sleeping in there with a two-year-old, and he's presuming that the shadow figures he sees in broad daylight are figments of his imagination?). Also, faulty wiring, no matter how old, is a fire hazard, so you may wish to check for that first a.s.a.p.
It's best to rule out practical explanations, first, I find. I'm not in any way dismissing your husband's experiences, but a strong EMF will exacerbate --even create-- sleep disorders.
As your husband is adamant that these experiences are NOT within the normal scope of his SP symptoms, has he ever done a sleep-study or spoken with a medical professional about this? Randy mentioned stress as a factor, so it could be that your husband needs to chat with a psychologist to de-stress a bit. The strength of character it takes to "Man Up" in a situation is nowhere near as impressive as the strength it takes to admit to needing help; stress management, for lack of a better term, is a Team Sport.
No matter how practical and/or necessary it may be for you to live with your parents at the moment (I'll mention that my parents went through that --twice!-- and leave it at that), it can feel to him as though he has failed in his responsibilities as a husband and father; he hasn't failed, but it can FEEL that way. So, now he's living with his in-laws (there's a word for that: "uxorilocal"), repressing his feelings, and walking around like a giant bullseye for any supernatural parasite to aim at. It is entirely possible that the shadow entity/entities are tormenting him to weaken his resolve for some insidious purpose of their own, but I strongly suspect that there is more than one cause, here. Clearing up some of the other exacerbating factors will help your husband to focus, so when you do a cleansing with burning sage (a smudging ceremony doesn't have to be elaborate, but be thorough with the corners & closets), lavender water (lightly mist the sheets, mattress, curtains, and rug), and pour an unbroken line of black salt (this is very cheap on Amazon) across the doorway, the window ledges, and whatever other entrance/exit he's seen the shadow figures use.
Frankly, it's not like me to make recommendations like the ones in the previous paragraph, but as I was writing, I felt rather compelled to list all three of the steps for thoroughly cleansing the location because I began to suspect he's seen the shadows use some portion of the room **other than the doorway** as an entrance. If this is so, you've got a portal in there, which needs to be contained immediately.
I'm aware that this is a lengthy post, but I do want you to consider that the natural and the supernatural aspects of this issue need to be resolved for your family to have peaceful, restful nights until you've got your own place again.
Best,
Biblio.

Thank you for your comments. We're not new parent's though. We have 3 kids. Our oldest being 11, and youngest just turned 2. I know stress can be a factor, to some extent. My husband wears the weight of our trouble's, on his shoulder, so to speak, but honestly, he always has. He's had nightmares due to it as well. But what he's experiencing now, is new to him. RandyM, I know what you're talking about, the thinking you've awaken out of a dream, but you're still in a dream. I've had that happen before, and so has my husband. He's had that happen a few times, but that's also something else that he's gotten use to having. As far as switching rooms, we can't do that here. But from my experiences in this room, when I was little, thing's actually got much better when I switched to my brothers old room. But for now, we're trying to get back on our feet, and finally move out. The reason why I said I don't want to move rooms though, is because the other room is directly next to my moms. Meaning, sharing a wall. The room I'm in now, is not next to her room. I chose to stay back in this room, because our 2 year old still sleeps with us, and gets loud allot. My mom has to get up very early for work, and sharing a wall with her, would keep her up allot. Not that she can't hear our 2 year old from this room, but it's not as bad as the one next to her. You can hear whatever someone is saying, if they speak in that room next to her. So just talking in that room is enough to keep my mom awake. It sucks, but this room is best for us, for now. Hopefully we'll be able to move out in the next few months, and I hope that it will get better after that. Sorry to write so much, and hopefully what I said made since. It's not easy trying to write with 3 kids going crazy around you lol.

Hello Twilight
I too am a long time sufferer of SP
I know all to well how real and frightening it can be.
You are correct in that there really is not a cure so to speak
It seems that the best we can do is to learn to live with it.
I'm in no way saying that isn't something more than SP or not paranormal but I would only go there as a last resort.
What could be making it worse is the change in location from where you used to sleep. Added stress from countless ways such as work, maybe moving into your old house, (perhaps if it was for financial reasons) he may be feeling at fault. There are so many things that bother us that we keep private about. Men especially. We tend to think we must be able to handle all burdens because we're men by golly. You get what I'm saying.
Any of those things and more can bother us more than we let on.
Then when we lay down to sleep and things quieten down we think about them. Going to sleep with things on our mind can be a perfect set up for a rough night. As I told another poster on this subject our brains are very very powerful in making us believe things. The old saying "seeing is believing" can work both ways.
While it can let us see the truth, a brain tricking us can let us see a lie. Again, not in any way saying what is going on isn't more than SP. Just saying I know from experience how very very real things can seem during SP or other sleep disorders.
Have you ever heard of a disorder called "False Awakenings"?
People actually think they are awake and start going about routines when in fact they are still sleeping.
Many times people have more than 1 sleep disorder and when they get intertwined things can get real crazy.
I can only suggest the obvious.
Good diet, exercise, perhaps a room change, and most of all good sleep habits. We think because we get 7 hours sleep we're doing good but that is not necessarily good habits. I mean going to bed at the same time, going to bed early if we need to. Not falling in bed exhausted. Going to bed and getting relaxed with the idea that you are going to have a good night of rest. Put the life worries off until tomorrow. This is a time of rest and body and mind rejuvenation.
I certainly hope things get better for him and you.
If not you may even consider seeing a sleep doctor and getting a sleep study done.
Keep us informed
Randy

Having a poor nights sleep for weeks/months on end do tend to cause people to be less than a ball of sunshine - ask any new mother, ha! What is that line? 'I'm great! Got a full 45 minutes sleep last night!' Probably why hubby's mood is going downhill fast.
Is this thing anywhere else in the house? Can you change rooms? Make a non-bedroom a temporary one? If this has been going on for years, it's unlikely to end (unless cause is found and removed asap). It may be time to make other sleeping arrangements.
Maybe it views your husband as an intruder and is attempting to out him. It could be used to you, or at least tolerates you since you keep coming back. I'd turn that room into an office or plant room or something else if possible.

I think a cleansing might be in order just in case, it couldn't hurt anything. I would also look at recent factors that would cause his increased amount of episodes; anxiety, stress, tension, and not enough sleep can all aggravate it. I would do the cleansing and then adjust routines to try and reduces stress and encourage better sleep. For example; nighttime tea and a book, meditation, heading off known stresses before they happen, that kind of stuff. That would be my plan of action. I hope it gets better, thank you for sharing!

I apologize for not clearing up on what I meant by saying SP, instead of sleep paralysis. I shouldn't have assumed that everyone would know what I meant. I guess you could say I was being lazy with not wanting to write it out. But still I should have at least wrote it out, one time lol. Thank you for the comment's. I was actually concerned about submitting this one, because I felt that so many would just write it off as a normal sleep paralysis. That's why I wanted to make it clear that my husband has experienced SP since high school, and knew how they felt, normally. But like I said, since living in my old room, they've changed. I'm sure if I write up MY own experiences in this room, from when I was little, it might give a better understanding of thing's. So I'll be sure to write about it soon. AugustaM, that was really freaky for you to have mentioned that about your experience! I can't remember the exact date, (which I really hate I can't remember), but it was sometime last week. Which makes me curious if it was the same night as you, and the other person you spoke of 😕, but when you brought up about us being in the same region, I looked to see where you're from, and that blew my mind that you're just a state away! Makes you wonder though. I hope my husbands doesn't turn into what you had dreamed! That is really scary! But like I said, whatever he's seeing, it's getting closer. For it to have just started out by walking into our room, and stand at the foot of the bed, to being on our wall, and now laying beside him, looking like me, is really starting to worry me about what its true intentions really are.

Twilight1011, thank-you for sharing your story. I wanted to comment on the topic of SP or something paranormal. I have been a little bit psychic, all of my life. When I was really young, between the ages of 2 and 7 years old, my immediate family including my brothers and some of my other relatives would always ask me to wish them luck to gamble or go with them to gamble ie) buy a lotto ticket, scratch a ticket what ever. My Mom is incredibly lucky and I think, I got it that way. In my twenties, I could watch any sports game i.e) soccer, rugby or golf and immediately, foretell the final score or winner. I became so used to it that I would, turn on the tv and see a game on, think to myself "okay, Western Province 3 and UK 15" and fall asleep. The next day, the broadcasting stations and radio would confirm the outcome. I don't want to go into too much detail/s about in which ways, I think, I show psychic ability or anything like that, I would just like to get to the point, but, in order to do so, I need you to understand that I have a "switch" which doesn't always work exactly right (sometimes, I know things nevermind if I wanted to know or flipped the switch, and other times I am psychically dead-as-a-doornail).
Back to SP, in my mid-twenties, I had several bouts of sleep paralysis. My memory is hazy and vague so I don't have a lot of details about each episode on hand. SP is not something I could ignore, as soon as it happened once or twice, I thoroughly went through each aspect of what had happened to me. While reviewing the occurrences, I realized that although I don't see anything when it happened, it doesn't necessarily mean that there is nothing there. So, the very next SP episode when I awoke, unable to move and feeling pinned down, I closed my eyes and 'flipped the switch'. At this point, I saw a large, very large, about the size a small bear, dark entity moving on top of me using whatever means it had to keep me pinned down. It was not very clear and I do not remember what exactly I saw, just, that it confirmed that what I was going through was a spiritual (please excuse the word) or psychic "constraint". Not just, it is a brain chemical which temporarily causes paralysis.

Ann4shadow - it took me a long time to figure it out too the first time I saw the abbreviation. Honestly, I probably had to be told LOL. If there is another occasion where something is said that you don't understand, just ask. There are no stupid questions and, like you said, other readers may not have know what it meant either 😊

I have been reading on here for months now and I did not know what SP meant. I think it would have been nice if you had said what that was at least once. I kind of figured that was what you were speaking about from the context of the story... But some readers might have enjoyed the story more with the explanation. I'm sorry I do not know how to help. I've only had this happen to me once or twice in my life.
Good Luck!

The vision your husband experienced of the two of you in bed sounds remarkably similar to an unusually realistic and frightening nightmare I had last week! I was laying on my bed, everything in the room was as normal but when I looked to my left where my husband should have been, there was a shadow person. I couldn't move to get away or protect myself - all I could do was feebly try to push it away with my left arm but that provoked it. It sat up, pried open my mouth and misted or however it is they morph and move right into me as though I was being possessed. I woke up still able to feel the wind stirred by its motion and, worst of all, it's hands on my face... It was awful! When did your husband have his dream? Oddly, my neighbor had a similar nightmare that same night - and all of us are in the same region, that's curious! I think we might all benefit from a good thorough cleansing!

Sleep Paralysis does not have to be paranormal. But given you had experiences in this room while younger, and now back in the room both you and your husband are having experiences makes me want to know more about the room.
I hope to hear more about your experiences soon.

I think it is quite normal for him to become short-tempered. I think this can be both combined, SP and paranormal. I suggest you to burn some sage leaves in your bedroom and keep them near your bed. They help the chase ghosts away if there are.
