L_Melb - I decided not to read the post and respond to the OP but I am responding to the comments.
The only reason that I am responding to you and Manafon is that KikiGirl is South African, as am I. Okay, I didn't want to mention her name but both of you have done so. I personally find it embarrassing when a fellow countryman posts a load of rubbish.
I certainly don't claim to know all the legends and practices in Africa. Africa is a large continent and I am restricted to one small area of it, ie South Africa and I am very aware of many of the cultures, practices and terms here.
To put it bluntly, I don't easily have the wool pulled over my eyes by South Africans, Americans, Brits or aliens.
That's my take on it. If you can't handle the heat of questions and clarifications, take refuge in a cool place - don't post anything.
By the way, after being a member of this site for about seven months, I just might decide to take my own advice. Perhaps I should just have stayed cool and kept my lip zipped in this instance 😆
Regards, Melda

Hello all 😁
I must say I thought the mention of the record collection was a tad off but who knows? (A few cases of "who knows?" in these narratives...) However regarding kikigirl, I thought she came up as being from S. Africa although, yet again, I could be wrong.
Another thing I noticed about her writing was a rather convoluted style and the need to include a multitude, plethora, abundance of the same word which kind of made me feel that either she thought her audience was dim or was attempting to give a more intellectual flavour to her prose, writing, narrative, story (you get my drift 😐)
I fear that I may have simply come across as judgmental and nasty! 😕
Oops!

Manafon - Yes I know all about the young adult with the YGS handle you're referring to.
After I called on her to apologise for false information she had (possibly unwittingly) provided regarding our South African legends, she disappeared into oblivion. I actually feel quite bad about that! Fortunately her profile page is still there, so she is still a member.
By the way George Harrison was my favourite Beatle when I was in my teens - he was so handsome!
Perhaps I should read the OP's story after all - maybe...

Twilighttyger--The George Harrison "All Things Must Pass" query was kind of an unfair trick question (although you apparently still aren't answering questions). If you decide to start responding, it would be super interesting to read your thoughts on side four of that album but even more so, side six!
Side six is closer to the substance of your stories. Pop on side six of your "record album" and see what I mean 🤔.

Wow, your narratives are just not credible. You do, however, include nice background detail that suggests you have lived in, or are at least familiar with, North Carolina. Flying squirrels are common throughout the state and that's a nice touch.
And another wow--your parents move every stick of their furniture to their new house, EXCEPT their own bed. So you and Matthew have to fend for yourselves in the new crib... And Matthew the cat gets to see you pinch your hand on a foldable mattress frame. Eerie.
You are a "young adult" by YGS standards and yet you are listening and dancing to George Harrison's "My Sweet Lord" on your record player in this account. Not only that but you mention, "all your records", like you are a lass living in the 1970s or 80s. Yeah, it's true that vinyl is back in vogue but you mention "record players" and "records" as if you are reminiscing about your time growing up in the 1970s. As an aside what did you think of side four of All Things Must Pass? Avant garde or what!? Although you aren't answering questions, you might want to check into what I'm talking about;)
You write like a North Carolina version of another "young adult" who went by the YGS handle KikiGirl. Lots of detail in her accounts but never on the right stuff. George Harrison (RIP) is great though. Check out his posthumous album Brainwashed. Beautiful stuff

I feel the same way, lady-glow. 3 stories and 0 posts, makes me feel... The same as when they say they'll participate then don't. Like they're just honing their writing skills and seeing how far they can go. Except these are utterly way too tame, and frankly rather boring as compared to the 'attention seekers' we get. Not even throw a toothbrush worthy. 🙄
Maybe she just doesn't have anything TO say about her experiences other than 'this happened'?

Uh...do you think Matthew could answer some questions about your experience? 😜
Since you seem to be such a prolific writer with a long history dealing with the paranormal it's very selfish of you to deprive us of your knowledge. 😢

You're such a sweet heart, you're a person who strengthens my faith in humanity - no, I'm not trying to "suck up" but you always give me the impression that you look for the best in people or situations.
I could hardly judge a whole population on the writings of one person - I would hate to be that kind of person - besides, not all items by Australian authors are... Erh 'top notch' personally, I don't even have anything worth writing about 😆
However, I'm not going to make something up and show a lack of respect to the site and readers
I dare say I should excuse myself for going way off topic regarding the original post.
😳
