BeautInside - I'm glad to know you enjoyed reading my Mother's experiences.
Wouldn't the world be a better place if people were kinder towards each other and less interested on material things?

Rex-T - just a correction, I was the one encountering the 'Growling Queen" and your suggestion of the Corgis made me ROFL... Lucky me you didn't say such a thing when my C-section wound was still fresh and sore!

Sushantkar - you are right, in my opinion, even the simple idea of the paranormal forming part of normal life would help every person into rationalizing any 'unexplained or mysterious' event before deciding to fear it. Knowledge is power.

Spockie - glad to know you liked my stories.

Thanks to all for reading.

[at] msforgetmenott, I hope the cancer ultimately loses. It is comforting to know you are preparing for what happens next. I will pray for you, if you'll allow.

(And if you're able, after passing, could you please keep posting stories?)

lady-glow,

I am once again doing the fight against the dreaded ovarian cancer. This time, so far, I am told, the cancer is winning. During chemo treatments I am often visited by family that have been long gone. The treatment is every 21 days and seven hours long. I get Benedryl in a drip and nod off for much of the seven hours.

My Mom (died when I was a child) has been to visit in my sleep twice. We laugh and talk like old friends. She tells me much of the after life. I have come to look forward to it, when it is my time. Having her tell me, reminds me of your Moms lessons. One point of interest is she looks young as she had in her wedding pictures, before I had any memory of her.

I enjoyed your telling of your Mom's wise advice. When Moms speak, we listen, dead or alive.

I enjoyed all your stories, especially the third one about the glove. Things are not always what they seem.

Hello LG! I would say another fascinating and very unique experience shared by you.
Somehow I feel that your and my family traditions are quite common when it comes to handle paranormal. It's not a taboo subject. It shows us that if you had border spectrum of thinking and if your attitude is positive then you can use any circumstance better.
I truly enjoyed reading your stories so thanks for sharing with us.

Hi lady-glow,

Your mom's experiences strike me as being full of wonder, compassion and humor. That she is quite open about her encounters makes me envious. Melda's quote of "Not in front of the children" is exactly the same attitude that my mum had for us kids. I think it was the culture at that time. Of course, all that changed when I met Jubeele.

Karma will surely smile on Mr. T, your Mom and you.

PS - Is your Mom sure that the growling wasn't coming from Her Majesty's Corgis? 😁

Lady-Glow,

It must feel really good to have a family that accepts the existence of ghosts, I wish I had the same luck! 😉

I had so much fun reading about these experiences. The type of gesture Mr. T had towards the deceased woman's family was beautiful and humble. I believe most professionals wouldn't make that effort, so it completely proves he was very sensitive and therefore an extremely caring person. 😊

In conclusion, 3 good lessons to be learnt!
Thank you! ❤

Jubeele - According to Mom, Mr T was a clairvoyant. I guess that had a lot to do with his decision to keep working on the woman's case.
Although, I have always wonder why he didn't sense that the person he was talking to wasn't a living one.

Mom has a very inquisitive mind, I guess that's why she had to go looking for the woman before assuming she had seen a ghost.
The following day she mentioned her experience to one doctor and, according to Mom, the doctor asked if she had seen the spirit of a patient or of a student.
The hospital where she had her surgery is located in Tlatelolco, where some students were massacred in October 2nd, 1968.
So, her experience happened in the anniversary of that tragic day.

Funny about the "pontianak". My daughter was born by emergency C-section, during my first night at the hospital I had a nightmare about Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second chasing me while growling loudly. I woke up and, to my horror, my body was paralyzed and the Queen was standing beside my bed still growling. I was looking at her shadow wearing a complex hat.
When I was able to move and assess my surroundings, I realized that the shadow of the "Queen" was the bouquet of flowers my husband had brought for me that morning, and the growling were the snores of the lady staying in the same room with me.

Yeah, thinking about the hand always makes me laugh.

Melda - I have always wondered if the rest of the people on that street saw the woman or, if only Mr T and Mom saw her. It's a mystery if a ghost is able to control who is allowed to see them and who is not. Fascinating stuff, isn't it?

I have never encountered a ghost during my stays in a hospital as a patient though, when working in one, I'm certain the spirit of a woman didn't want me to draw a blood sample from her, as told in http://www.yourghoststories.com/real-ghost-story.php?story=14118

Hospitals are such interesting places, unfortunately when a patient encounters a spirit, it seems to be common to think that the spirit is coming to get them.
I'm sure that, if you ever end up in the hospital and, if a ghost came to see you, they would be very fortunate because, given that big heart of yours, you'd convince them to go where they belong.

Thanks for reading and commenting.❤

Melda,

I think the same thing as far as wondering how many times we've come across a ghost and not known it. It would be so easy to 'pop in and out' with no one having a clue. Especially in large crowds... Think of the possibilities... 😉

Lady-glow,

The ghostly hand... Hahaha! That's great! 😁 You are very lucky to have such a wonderful, open minded mother. I think I would be a bit freaked out if I woke up to see a strange woman standing by my bed though. Your mother sounds like a 'tough cookie'.

Thanks for sharing a great account ❤

Heok! [*gasp*] How spooky, lady-glow! I had goosebumps when I read about the woman who spoke to Mr T and your mother. It's admirable that Mr T didn't shirk from his obligation or try to avoid it out of fear. Sounds like he was a kind and honourable man.

Mum and my Dad's family would tell us stories of ghostly experiences too. They were cautionary tales, reminding us to be respectful, even of things we couldn't see, to always do the right thing and listen to advice from our elders.

Your mother is brave to go searching for that woman all on her own. I'd have alerted the night-duty nurse. Could she sleep at all after she concluded it was a ghostly sighting? When I was in my 20s, I had to spend a week in hospital after a major procedure. I woke up in the night by the woman across the corridor screaming about a "pontianak" (female vampiric ghost). It creeped me out so much that I persuaded my doctor to get me discharged a day early. 😨

Oh, I almost fell off my chair laughing at the "horrible, spectral hand". It was Thing from Adams Family come to visit of course! 😜

lady-glow,
I put this one in my faves. I love the fact your Mom was so honest with you kids.
The glove incident did make me laugh! I can just picture that happening! Thank you so much for sharing!

lady-glow - I just loved reading this.

I think it's very possible that the lady who confronted Mr T was not ready to cross over because something important in her life had not been dealt with. Once that procedure had been completed, she probably moved on. I have often wondered how many times we've seen ghosts walking in the streets and in the supermarkets, probably even shared a word or two with them and haven't realised they were ghosts! Imagine the reactions of the people waiting for the tram, or on the tram, watching this lady walking towards them and suddenly disappearing into thin air 😁 It could have happened. Either there would have been a babble of excitement or dead silence.

Oh the hospital again. I've been in hospital rather often but have never been fortunate enough to meet up with a ghost (as far as I know). If I ever end up there again, when I fill in the form where they ask about special foods, needs etc, one of my requirements will be that it is essential that I have visits from the ward ghost to speed up my healing process.

The glove - oh my, isn't it amazing how our mind plays tricks on us?! Perhaps an amputated spiritual hand contained in the glove 😜

You're fortunate to have a family who doesn't sweep the supernatural under the carpet, as mine did. My old granny used to chastise her children about things they discussed when we kids were around. One of her favourite remarks: "Not in front of the children."

Regards, Melda
