Melda, I have found the easiest and quickest way to get a song out of my head is to chew gum. Not sure why it makes a difference.

But the song is now running through my head as well.

Rex-T - How could you do that to me?! For the next two days I'll be singing "the answer my friend, is blowin' in the wind, the answer is blowin' in the wind". One of my favourites. I was a HUGE Bob Dylan fan.

Appreciate your anchors but don't ever ignore what you feel in your soul.

Go well my friend,

Ah Melda,

To quote Bob Dylan - "The answer my friend, is blowin' in the wind".

Two anchors that will always bring me back are Jubeele and the "debrief" by my YGS family.

As previously stated, the fun is in the journey.

Always love your comments in the past, present and future!

Rex-T - I have to tell you that you are a spoiled brat. Commenting while eating Jubeele's delicious pancakes and homemade jam. I'm jealous!

Honestly, as far as your NDE is concerned, I think we can go any which way. I don't doubt for a second that what you described happened but my gut feeling tells me that you were never meant to cross over. I think your spirit went on a walk-about and showed you various events, either past, present or future. Perhaps all three?

We can all speculate as much as we like but at the end of the day, what is the answer?

Regards, Melda

RC,

Here I sit contemplating Melda and your latest posts, while eating Jubeele's butter milk pancakes and her homemade apricot jam. The lyrics of a famous Led Zeppelin song "When all is one and one is all" and a quote from Zathras (Babylon 5) "You are the beginning of the story, and the middle of the story and the end of the story that creates the next great story" are both seeking attention in my head. No doubt, when the caffeine kicks in, I'll have a better handle on what all this means in the space/time continuum!

OK, let's move onto your third question. For me, the same experience is true while travelling through South East Asia, New Zealand, Western Europe, and the US South West. I'm no phonetic expert but I could not pick up any accent that sounded familiar nor was it computer generated. I should point out that I only heard that one short sentence repeated, maybe, three times. While discussing this experience with Jubeele, she did point out that maybe the conversation was directed at her only and I was only listening in. Wow, eavesdropping on my own experience? Now the caffeine is flowing, and things are becoming a little easier to understand.

I find it quite humbling to answer your fourth question, as this involves getting advice from the big guy upstairs. A bit clichΓ© I know, but I do hear that voice in the thunder of an approaching storm, the murmur of waves surging up a sandy beach and the laughter of little kids playing in our corridor.
The other incident I mentioned, involving my oldest brother was not conducted in words, it was the chaos in my head being replaced with an understanding that he was now in a better place.

As for the wise men and women in this world, my message is simple - focus on the journey (where all is learnt) and not on the destination (which usually changes before you get there anyway).

Apologies, if I've strayed off topic.

Thanks, Rex-T.

That some of the others in the room had no visible wounds, it may have been mental, or on the opposite side of the body you couldn't see, or maybe it was internal wounds or injuries. Death from heart attack or choking, perhaps.

And what Melda added:
What rather intrigues me is the other people you were shown. Had they died; were they in the future, the past or the present. It would be interesting to know how many of those people survived and had their own NDE experiences.

They could be from, and in, all three. I believe that, after we die, we no longer have existence in time but experience one Great Now, where things and events that were, and are, and have not yet come to be, are all present at once. (I just finished rewatching The Lord of the Rings trilogy.)

More questions, though.

3. How is it you heard no accent? In my experience, everyone has an accent of some sort. I spent a semester of grad school in England, Birmingham, and noted six distinct 'British' accents among the folks I shared a flat with. My own speech is mostly the common American accent, namely upper midwest US, but with features of Philadelphian, Upstate New Yorker, downstate New Jersey, and some San Francisco Bay also. That last has us totally confused as I have never set foot in the bay area.

4. You stated the voice didn't sound like your brother or father yet it sounded familiar. Of course there's that other experience you mention when a voice gave you advice/instruction. As best as you can recall, did they sound similar?

4a. Not really a question, just some theological supposing here: When Adam and Eve lived in the Garden, God, according to the book of Genesis, came down in the cool of the evening to speak with them. I wonder if that is what the voice sounded like. πŸ€”

While I don't personally agree with the (supposed) Chinese concept of the Heavenly Bureaucracy, the waiting room/MASH triage room as you describe it seems to me it was just that, without any special significance. Bodies of those who have died awaiting the general resurrection? Perhaps, and this was just the place where the resurrected bodies, if you believe in such a thing, would be prepared from our earthly remains.

Well, this is all just supposition. Eschatology is not something I've studied in anything resembling detail. And from what I have read, not even wiser men than I agree.

Melda,

Always value your insights. After going through all this (and more), I have no problems with your theory. Let's face it, physically and spiritually I was at my lowest ebb and needed help to make it back and recover.

The other people in the room? Initially, I thought their purpose was to convey a message that I would eventually figure out. Thanks Melda, I've now got another perspective to consider.

I was once told that the orange haze may be related to my aura. This made sense so I did not bother to pursue this further.

Still plenty of questions to be answered but one thing I have worked out is whether this was a feverish dream or NDE, Jubeele was the anchor that brought me back.

Rex-T - Thanks for finally sharing this experience with us.

I have a theory on NDE and obviously I don't expect everybody to agree with me. My thoughts are that when the body is in such a sorry state the spirit tends to wander a bit. It can't totally abandon the host body, or the body would indeed die if the spirit decided to move on. But the spirit cannot simply move on if it hasn't fulfilled it's purpose on earth. (I'm excluding suicide, I don't even want to go there.)

I believe that you experienced all that you have told us but that you weren't allowed to cross over. The voice you heard, probably your brother, was telling you this.

What rather intrigues me is the other people you were shown. Had they died; were they in the future, the past or the present. It would be interesting to know how many of those people survived and had their own NDE experiences.

I experienced the orange haze as well but as far as I know it was not associated with an NDE. This is why I think our spirits have a bit of a walk-about when we're unconscious. I can't publish my experience as I believe it was simply an OBE when I "visited" my home in an unconscious state and tried to interact with one of my sons.

I find NDEs extremely interesting but believe me, I'm glad you were pulled out of that one. It wasn't meant to happen that way.

Regards, Melda

Hello Kindly_refrain,

Yes, a painful lesson that changed my whole outlook on life. From coming to terms that somebody I don't know, donated a loved one's organ that saved me, to stepping out of my comfort zone and shaking my skeptical view on the unexplained.

I too had doubts that my experience wouldn't fit but thanks to encouragement and accounts from folks on this site I finally went ahead with my submission.

I wish you good luck in your endeavors.

Hi Miandra,

Thanks for reading.

What I can say about "us brothers" is that we all graduated from the school of "hard knocks" and in true highlander tradition we tend to be fighters, rather than victims.

So I'm sure my oldest brother is scouting out the best surfing spots upstairs and my prankster brother has always been a survivor.

Gidday Manafon,

I'm really happy that you enjoyed my experience.

Will make a concerted attempt to search for Scott's experiences, although I notice that he is now a "guest" on YGS.

That "voice" still intrigues me. It doesn't have the "growl" of my father or the "gravel" of Bon Scott's voice. It could have been my late eldest brother's voice as he did talk with a low, controlled tone when he was really serious (not just bluffing).

Problem is the lack of any accent and I did not hear any recognition in Jubeele's voice.

As for Bon, I'd gladly sit down with him again, share a beer (or possibly spirits) and listen to the real AC/DC music. Of course, Mrs Manafon and you are invited.

Hello all, great account Rex-T, sorry you had to suffer all of this to have the adventure.

I had an experience with some similarities that I'd love to get feedback on. I won't hijack this thread with it but fear it may not get published here as it does not include any spirits, ghosts or other worldly entities. It is, however, the scariest thing that has ever happened to me.

I'll submit it anyway to see if it is approved for publication.

RC, you've done it again! The quickest typing fingers in the west and east.

The answers to your two questions as follows:

Question 1. I believe that the voice was referring to both Jubeele and me, it was the way I wrote it (should have left out the quotation marks). It should have read "You should not be here, and you must leave".

Question 2. It was and is where the liver is located. From what I can still remember, my visual sweep of the room indicated that most people had open wounds to their heads and bodies, but not all. I suppose it is possible that these people had wounds on the other side of their bodies (like their backs) or were they mentally wounded?

Once again RC, two good pick-ups with two good questions - wouldn't expect anything else.

Thanks for reading.

Hey Rex--I found your account fascinating. I have discussed NDE's in great detail with YGS member Scott Grant. He had a NDE when he was severely wounded during the Vietnam War. Although there are many differences in your experiences, not feeling any pain and the warm, comforting feeling you sensed are similar.

I have no idea if you had an NDE or a very intense fever dream. I had a weird dream years ago when I was suffering from a high fever and I can remember it still in great detail. The only other dream I have had that I can remember in great detail was a visitation dream from my deceased mother. I can understand why I remember the latter dream but not the former. Sometimes there seems to be no rhyme or reason why we will remember one dream and not another. That said, it really does seem like you experienced an NDE.

Was the voice you heard possibly that of your brother? Remembering a discussion we had once, maybe it was Bon Scott 😜. One thing's for sure, you went through an intense time and came out of it alive. You're a fighter and it clearly wasn't your time to leave this realm yet. That voice certainly thought so.

Questions, now that I'm caught up on stories:

1. Was the voice addressing you: [You] should not be here, or was it talking about itself? I think, though, if the voice was talking about itself not belonging in such a place, it would sound more panicked.

2. The wound you saw on yourself seems to correspond to your surgery. Did you see wounds on the other people in the waiting room?

Yay! It got posted! Jubeele told me to keep an eye out for it, and this seemed like the one to start with.

I'll ask disturbing questions later.
