Marty - mirroring Jubeele's sentiments, glad you're back. Long time since last Xmas (and we're nearly there again).

I've experienced the feeling that I'm not alone, heralded by the hairs sticking up on the back of my neck and the air seemingly turning cold. For me, not seeing or encountering a threat actually amplifies the sensation.

Do you think that by holding your ground, your physical stance may have given the spirit the message that "it was going to be fight"?

Intriguing that the first impression is that the bad smell meant that this was a hostile entity. One thing seems certain, once it had verified that your preparation work was completed, it moved on.

Thanks for sharing another account Marty and thanks to your SA colleague for giving you a gentle nudge.

Hi Marty, so glad to 'hear' from you. 😊 It takes a person of great heart to care for the deceased. Also, great fortitude and a steady disposition, as can be seen in all your previous experiences.

The difference in the mood of the place within a short space of time was significant. As you were very familiar with all the nuances of the funeral home, you would be aware the smallest change in your environment, even if it were an item being moved out of place. I wonder you had sensed the high emotions evoked under the circumstances of the murder-suicide. Was the sadness from the victim or the alleged perpetrator, who came for a last glimpse before departing?

The shadow came closer as soon as you noticed it and then came the smell, as if it wanted to make a point. The scent of smell develops before sight. It is a fundamental sensory indicator that something was out of the ordinary. Your hairs standing on end and your "fight or flight" feeling also show the instinctive reaction when encountering a threat. I don't know if that was a final gesture from an angry spirit still filled with hostility, but I'm glad that it did no further harm.

Thank you for sharing another interesting and thought-provoking experience from the 'vault'. Be well. 🤔
