HI Rhodes, I think this is a beautiful story and really well told. So when you asked the presence to let you know if it didn't like you there, did you get a response? Do you still use that room to relax in the rocking chair by the garden? Or do you feel too unnerved to use it?

Yes, I do think that it may have been coincidental that you chose a storage room, and some of the things the "old man" treasured as they caught your eye. It may also have been coincidental that your favorite flower, jasmine, was also HIS. However, on the other hand, you may be a kindred spirit to him, and in your combined love of the same things (the rocker, the vine, the room, your talent for decorating the place) you have found out (both of you) that you are kindred spirits.
What a beautiful story. Thank you.

Thank you both Frawin and faerielike for your lovely comments. I also think that whoever is there, is a gentle presence who doesn't mind another's company as long as it's discreet. I try to keep things quiet in there as much as I can, at least as long as it's winter and the garden bar isn't open.

I must be honest about something. When I decided to write this part about the study room, I was afraid that the detailed description would seem pointless to you but, at the same time, if I hadn't done that, I would have failed to communicate my feelings for that particular place and the difference between what I experienced there and what others think the room generates. I will try to write the related events as soon as possible and thank you for your patience.

Frawin, your awfully kind 😳.
Faerie, I would love to post a few photos but I need to wait until the bar is sold(you can understand why)

Thank both very much 😊 ❤

I just love your stories and the way you describe things. This one really made me feel like I was there, and made me want to be there!
Maybe he was there working through you rather than against you. Sometimes while I paint, I get the feeling someone is working through me rather than my own hands creating it. It makes me wonder if maybe great artist from the past might pop in to give inspiration. Or even in your case, maybe the place remembered and gave the inspiration. After all we all do leave imprints behind when we go. Or maybe it is him sticking around and he saw something in common with you.
Anyway, this was a great story and I really want to see this place you described so well! 😁

Thank you Rhodes for another beautiful and well written story. It does make one wonder where we get our inspiration from, doesn't it. I can see why he wouldn't want to leave. He's in the place he loved, his room was fixed the way he liked it, right down to his rocking chair and favorite plant. All this plus the "company" of a charming lady. Who WOULD want to leave-I sure wouldn't.Take Care and God Bless.

FRAWIN 😊 ❤
