It was quite terrifying especially being that young. But I can't say I wouldn't be terrified again if I saw something like that today. Your light envelope is very similar to mine. I imagined this glassy clear dome around me and my bed. It really did help a lot. Thank you for your comment!

Hi Trent,
I like the idea of the "ghost blanket..." I would do something very similar while growing up if I were frightened. I grew up on a house with strange occurences. Looking back now I think it was most likely poltergeist activity given the age of myself and my sisters at the time, but I would also pray and imagine myself enveloped in a safe white light. I really believe that works. Thanks for sharing another great story. You must have been terrified!

I TOTALLY just realized I messed up my "compass" directions. Replace the East with West, and the southwest corner with southeast corner. Sorry about that ya'll!

That is very true. And I do realize that, because my lakehouse has spirits in it. I can feel them every time I go up there. And I know it doesn't have any history because my grandfather built it. But the land could have a lot of history especially being on the lake. Many indians used the land for water, hunting, and other reasons like bathing. The land of house I currently live in used to be an airport. But it is now a Robert Trent Jones golf course. Gotta love having my name in it, haha. Other than the dog thing I mentioned, I haven't really had any other experiences in this house.
You just made me realize something that happened at my lakehouse. Me and my friends all thought it was an intruder, but we never saw anyone. It was a calm night up there. No wind was blowing. All of a sudden, I hear the basement door knob jiggle and then open, and I hear footsteps. I immediately knew I wasn't the only one that heard this because both of my friends stopped what they were doing. We all grabbed a knife and rushed down there yelling our heads off. Whoever/whatever it was was gone before we got down there. There are a lot of break-ins up there, so we just thought that is what it was. But it might have been something else. Thanks for your comments!

I posted my question and then saw where you had answered it in your reply to rapunzel. Keep in mind one thing, just because a house is new doesn't mean that you won't have spirits in it. Not all hauntings happen in 100 year old houses. Some of the times after doing research, it isn't the house that has had tragedy, it is the land.

I have read your stories and I have enjoyed all of them. It is easy to say that when you are not the one who had to experience them first hand. Do you still have experiences now?

This was the old house. I did pray every night if you read carefully. I have moved since then. And we built this house, so I know nothing bad has happened here. And I haven't had any weird experiences in this house other than my dog always stares at this one spot in my room. But if it is a spirit, I am not afraid of it. He can stay as long as he doesn't bother me. But thanks for your comment

First Comment! Hello Trent, I am Rapunzel, I too have had a exprience where I felt something watching me. Get a local preacher in your house. As I did. And do these steps, there were used by indians to remove evil spirits (1) find salt pour it on the floor in a circular motion. (2) chant the name of the lord. (3) yell at the top of your lungs DEPART IN THE NAME OF THE LORD! AND HEAVEN THEE SHALL NOT TOUCHETH OR HARMETH ME! Thus immidetaly removeing the spirit from the set out a cross in every room and a bible under every pillow I wish you luck,Trent:)

I gotta say, I kind of get the same feeling. I stay home a lot but I'm lucky. My ghost protects me other then harms me, hahaha. You gotta read the story if you want that sentence to make sense. Hahaha. Did the guy seem evil when you looked at him? I, myself, don't think he was there to hard you. I don't know why he was there. I'm kind of clueless to this one. But as long as you arent sensing him anymore, then I suppose it don't matter much.
