I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I really don't know what to say. From what other people are commenting it's confusing.

Just before I found out that I could drop dead any minute cause of my heart and had a double heart bypass. I saw a shadow guy. He wasn't evil at all. He was there for me. I just know that. They are not all demons as some priests are wrongfully filling people heads with and I'm sure it had nothing to do with your Grandmothers death at all. God said it was her time that's all. Take care sorry for your loss

Sorry about your loss. But maybe it was Death himself. Ready to escort your grandmother to Heaven.

I am sorry for the loss of your beloved Grandmother, Fallen Angel.
I see that you have as of yet to answer to any of the comments, I do hope that you are reading through these and thinking.
Personally, I am having difficulties connecting your Grandmother with the shadow in any way. The only link I can really hang on to is you. I hope that you look up the Shadow People and read on them. Absorb all of the knowledge that is out there. Not all things that are not readily explained are evil, and not all ghosts are, either.
Please allow me to share something with you. There are times when random Beings come to those who can See, for no reason other than that they CAN see. There is no connection whatsoever, just the correct "make-up" of the human soul. Certain circumstances and emotions can facilitate a sighting, and grief is a pretty strong emotion.
Timing is everything.
Intelligent haunts will pick and choose who they are seen by. They have the luxury of working thought. Residual haunts are simply stuck in the fabric of the very air we breathe. There really is not rhyme or reason for their sightings, just that there was a strong emotion at one point which wove itself into the space. Shadow people are a part of one of those categories.
I do not feel that this Being that you saw was a demon, nor do I think there was a direct connection with your Grandmothers illness.
I feel that the connection was merely in your grief being so strong. Yes, I DO realize that this was many days before her assent, but that does not mean that you were not saddened by her condition.
Please think no further of a demon. There was none present.
Thank you.

Hi and thank you for sharring this story with us. I am very sorry for your loss. It is always sad to hear when someone close passes away. I don't think this was a demon or that this thing came to take your Granma. It might have been a close family member who came for her. The reason why it was tall is because the spirit couldn't fully manifest. It didn't have enough energy to transform itself fully. I hope to hear from you soon and take care

Don't think it was a demon either but then I don't believe in demons. Some think demons are a collective consciousness of all the hate, envy, greed and selfish pride of human souls that have sinced passed on. I don't know about the angel of death theory either. I do believe some spirits come to help another soul cross over. I'm not sure what you saw but I don't think it was evil just paranormal and sometimes that can be scary enough.

my condolences for your loss.
I don't believe it to be a demon... It can possibly be the collector of souls or it can be a deceased relative, ready to assist your grandmother to the other side but then... You saw it after your grandmother went to the hospital so I don't think that shadow was the reason of her death.
Once again, my condolences.
God bless

Please, do not misunderstand me, James! I'm not in disagreement with you either, I'm confused by this myself.
Oh, these messages do a very effective job in hiding facial expressions.
I really cannot be sure about the things I believe and quite often, I need to re-evaluate my beliefs or previous assumptions. Like you said "all things are probable" and that might be the beauty of this universe 😊

Dear Rhodes--
I'm not trying to be fractious; I have the utmost respect for your experience and manner of process in this realm. I'm only a curious seeker, as most posters seem to be, and try to apply logic and "the things we know" that enable us to discern into this barely charted territory.
There's no shred of doubt in my mind you are earnest, and that your comments are offerings as food for thought. You are, as I say, more knowledgable and experienced. I don't want to mistaken as quarrelsome. I know my words are often stiff and can be offputting, and it's not my intention. If I've put your hackles up in any way, I apologize.

James: I didn't say that the shadow accidentally came to that particular house. Maybe, it had no intention to be seen by Fallen Angel at that particulat time.
Yes,it's true that his grandmother died 10 later-I also found that strange but then again, isn't time perceived very differently in these two realms.
Anyways, I'm not suggesting I hold the key to people's answers. I'm still looking the answers to my own questions. I'm just offering my opinion 😊

Dear Fallen__Angel,
First of all I would like to say, I like the name, very "biblical". Okay, now in a serious tone, I would like to say, as what Mr. Robiscoe said "why did it appear to you, who had no way of identifying it?" It could be possible that you are a clairvoyant. Not all shadows are considered demons, in fact, some spirits use shadows as an apparition. If you did see a demon in a chapel, I highly doubt it was a demon for demons can "supposedly" be somewhat hurt or injured on holy ground.
Fallen angel, I am sorry to hear about your loss, I can only offer my sympathy. I believe that the shadow was either your grandmother or a deceased relative of decades past. I would further like to discuss the issue. As for the comments and theories of Rhodes and Mr. Robiscoe, it's your choice to choose which one to believe in, both ways, they have happy endings.
Thank you for posting your experience and sharing it with the yourghoststories community. God bless you and take care.
Sincerely,
Francois 😁

Rhodes--
I see your expanded view of the visitation. Grandma died 10 days later, so this was a precursive messenger, an angel of death or deceased relative accidentally coming to granmother's house whilst she was in hospital because she knew the grandchild would see it and tell of the visitation?
The incident at your own grandfather's passing was no accident, though, if you found three purposes to it. I surmise then that some phantoms are more informed, more directional, as it were, than others. In that Land Without Borders, no doubt, all things are probable, just as they are here...

Fallen Angel, first, I want to say I'm sorry about your grandma.
Secondly, I want to say that I'm pretty sure it couldn't have been a demon. If you saw a demon, I'm guessing the demon would have tried to mess with your mind.
It might have just been there at the wrong place at the wrong time, of course, it could have also been there to escort her.
I'm sort of new at this so don't take what I have too seriously...

Hi Fallen Angel,
I am really sorry about your grandma. In my opinion it was the angel of death because once I had a close encounter of this type, I'll write it soon on here:-) I don't think that if it was a demon it would do nothing.
Take Care

Hi James. We sometimes assume that the soul of a person transcends into the other realm right after their demise but I think this is comletely wrong!
I am convinced that a soul returns home, to the family who misses them for a final goodbye. Sometimes, the reason they get trapped is the fact that this family is overwhelmed by the loss and unable to accept their death. I know that if I died tomorrow, I will 'stick around' for my final farewell to those I have loved in life as well as to see the place/s that I consider home one more time.
I don't think that the shadow willingly appeared to the poster-not necessarily anyways. How do we know that this wasn't an accidental or unitentional encounter?
I will write about the encounter I had while my grandfather was passing on. I couldn't figure out why the apparition would come to my place and not his. Later I realised that it must have been three things at the same time. She knew I would be able to see her and thus, spread the message that 'there's no such thing as death', second, that was in fact where their first home was, on my land, third, she knew grandpa would not leave until he comes to look at me one more time.

The thing is, if the dark entity wanted to escort Grandmother, why did it appear to you, who had no way of identifying it?

Fallen Angel,
First of all I would like to convey my sympathy at the loss of your grand mother.
Please re-read the comments from Rhodes. I would like for you to think your encounter through very slowly. I know grief can be powerful and the first thing we tend to do is try to find some one or something to blame when we loose a loved one.
The entity you saw may certainly have been a past realative or other loved one that was trying to make peace for your family and assist your grand mothers on her journey. It is quite possible that the entity did not have a face because much energy is required to manofest and this may be all that was accomplished.
Have you had any other occurances or sightings?
God Bless! 😁

Hi Fallen Angel. I'm very sorry for the loss of your Grandmother. I believe what rhodes68 said about the black figure is very true. I have been dealing with the dark, 'shadow man' for years now and I have never felt evil from him. He never has facial features either. Black makes you think evil, like white makes you think of an angel. If your Grandmother was in the hospital, I don't believe this black figure would have shown up at the house, he/she probably would have gone to the hospital if he/she were coming to escort her to the other side. And if it were a demon, I don't think he would have been considerate enough to knock on the door before entering your home. You never said what the black figure did after it was at the door and right in front of you. Maybe explaining his/her actions would possibly make it easier to see what his purpose of being there was.

Fallen Angel, I'm very sorry for your loss!
Have you ever thought that the black figure you saw that day was, in fact, the spirit of a deceased relative who came to make sure that your grandma would safely cross to the other side? Black may be associated with evil by many people but this isn't quite true. A shadow can simply be a soul that lacks the energy to fully manifest itself. Maybe whoever visited your household that day, couldn't fully appear before your eyes.
Maybe he/she chose not to fully appear not wishing to scare you and you seeing it while visiting was not anticipated.

Sorry for your loss but it your grandmother was killed by a demon I doubt she'll be in a happy place, I'd rather believe that an angel took her away to spent eternity in a happier place.
