Very interesting I would like to let you know something I have read about and was wondering if you have heard of this.
I have read on here about a guy that astral projects into other planes and I have also read about the djinn demons actually not being demons but beings before us and put onto a different plane to us. We can't see them and they can't see us but sometime we cross paths (perhaps even buildings).
I know this sounds a bit silly but its just something I have read and thought I would share and see what others thoughts are:)

Runswithlydia,
Thank you for your comments (on both my experiences that you made one on).
Can you imagine the effect of this 'phantom home' on the flight path of a Frisbee? That has to be one tough hole...LoL! 😲
Respectfully,
Rook

Interesting story, rookdygin. And interesting way to spell djinn as in the spectres that roam the deserts of the middle east. I liked the story here especially as a shared event. One wonders if the event is still there even after the new constructions at the park?

geetha,
The area this occurred in was added to the Park and ended up being part of a Frisbee Golf Course. As far as I know it still is, but it's been years sense I've returned to the site.

On a personal note. I'm happy that your ex - wife and you are on good terms. As a social worker, I have worked with many kids who had divorced parents and many of these people are not so civil to each other (and that's putting it nicely). I think many more people should be like you.

You posted a story recently stating that it was a continuing from a previous story. So I decided to catch up on some of your other stories and refresh my memory of your experiences.
As for this story, simply wow. I think as human beings can become a spirit, non - moving objects can have their own haunting of sorts; almost like a residual haunting.
It's truly amazing that your ex - wife could see it but you could only feel it. I didn't quiet finish reading the comments so I don't know if someone already asked this but did you and your ex - wife ever go back to investigate if it was still there?

Hi Rook, what a fascinating encounter. I have never heard of anything quite like this before. 😕
I am so glad that you have documented, & shared this with us all.
I did read your narrative in the past, but that was before I became a 'member of the club', so couldn't comment. It was because of people, with tales like yours, that gave me the courage to join.
In all sincerity, thank you for sharing.

Hi Rook. First time I've heard of something like this. Very odd and interesting though. It's like you felt the "present" and your ex-wife saw the "past" or something like that.

Truth,
I live in Austin now, about a 4 hr drive west of this location. Research on th Park however shows that the area had been cleared of some of the brush and incorporated into a Frisbee Golf Course.

Do you still live close enough to that area to visit it? Or has it become a residential areas with houses and streets where the woods and clearing used to be? I know that's happened to places here in VA. I'm just curious if you could go back and take pictures.

Truth,
Thanks for the comment, for the record I'm still not sure what we experienced that day in the park. All the things I've seen and Learned and still nothing really explains this... Mostly because one of us 'saw' the outline and the other 'felt' the walls... Perhaps that in itself has something to do with her 'inner eye' being pen and myself being an Empath... Hummmm now there is an interesting train of thought...

Rook

Very cool story. I would have been quite puzzled too if that happened to me --and quite curious. I probably would have gone further and tried taking photos of the area. Kinda reminds me of Lost and Jacob's house.

There was a theory I have heard of before, and its been a while since I have heard it so bear with me as I try and type it up correctly, and it goes something like this:
There is someone I was talking to, or something I was reading, where they said that they believe that different time periods are just different dimensions, and when we see spirits, items, houses, etc. That it could just be us looking through into another dimension.
Now since you couldn't see the house, but was able to feel where the walls, etc. Was, then maybe if there was anyone (spirits, etc.) that were there, maybe they could have seen you, but you appeared as a spirit to them (walking through walls, etc.).
I am trying to think of a better way to explain the theory I have heard/read, and if I do I will comment again to update it but that's what I thought of while reading the story.
I think another theory that lines up similar to it is the "Time Slip Theory" where you experience something from a different time period, but its like your actually in the time period, and that it all feels more real then just a paranormal experience.
Peace

Msmith1234,
Intresting theroy, and as plasuable as any other, though if it was 'me' who had 'passed' I think I would work on being remembered myself and not the house... But that's just me. 😉
I still remember the basic layout, even after all these years, I'll try and draw it out, at least I can do a diagram of the first floor. That is if anyone is intrested... If so, then I'll draw it up, and submit the pic for upload...

Hey! The reason you saw a phantom house was because it was the collective energy of many ghosts to form this phenomenon. Maybe some of the ghosts associatied with that area just didn't want their house to be forgotten.

succubiluv,
I'm sure it can/could be done. It would be my guess that it'S a matter of public record.
The park is called Agnes Moffatt Park and it's on 10651 Hammerly Blvd in Houston, Tx. (I think that's the right street number.)
Looking at Goggle maps (satelite mode) it looks like they have not built anything in the area where this happend, but it has been cleared of most of the trees and brush. (If you Goggle it the area of the park in question is right at the end of Stebbins Dr.) Just beyond the tress that are standing at the end of Stebbins.
It appears that the city may own the property and is developing it into ballfields and picnic areas. I hope this helps, I'll try to look up more information, but I'm at work so more later.

Rook,
It's been a long time ago, but I wonder if it would be possible for someone to get info on the history of this land area.
Any particulars as to its location, name, ownership, etc?

Wow this was a very interesting story. I was a little confused because I have never heard of anything likme this. But now I get the picture. It is hard to say what this realy is. Kind of reminds me of a residual haunting but something here doesn't add up. I have to agree with Rhodes on what caused this amount of energy for you two to see and feel that house. It surley is a mystery and one hell of a great experience. Thank you for sharring this story with us. I hope to hear from you soon and take care

I'm happy you're able to visualise Rook's experience better, rhodes68, and that you let me know about it.
Visualisation is a major factor in our perception and understanding of paranormal matters. Without it, we miss out on important parts of the concievable puzzle.
Thanks for the comment, gamst.
Wildone, I'm going to read your suggested story today. Thanks for that reference.
Rook, I thought you might have been back there.
It would be interesting to find if or not anymore paranormal events take place on that land area later.
The phantom house experience is at least worthy of inclusion in some documentary.
My thought was that it could be part of a movie on the paranormal, not the whole movie.
I've been thinking about how the traditional standard for paranormal entertainment is so entrenched.
Everything's got to be horrid or its not good box office.
This trend has shaped the entire world's view of spirits and of paranormal experience.
Wonder how a shift in perspective led by the movie industry would affect that world view. Anyhow, looking forward to your CHASE HOUSE story...

Succubiluv: I'm trully impressed by the description you gave Rook concerning how a simulated object can be perceived as solid, how one's stimulated perception can highlight the outlines of an object and ultimately make it part of the physical world.
I was quite intrigued by Rook's experience so your evaluation has enabled me to visualise it much better now.
Great comments ladies and gentlemen!

There is another story on this site about a segment of land becoming something it was no longer. It is Strange Conversation in Jennisons Cemetary. I think it possible for this phenomenon to be less rare than what most of us would be comfortable in accepting.

Actually I have been back, the field is still there, but they were clearing it. This was Thanksgiving last year. It appeared they were going to start building more apartments.
Please call me Rook, I'm used to that. A movie producer or writer...nah, it's a very interesting and odd event but not worth a movie... Not creepy enough.
Speaking of creepy, I have submitted the other story I mentioned. It's called 'The Chase House'... And this experience did creep me out, still does just thinking about it. I just hope the links/pictures work... Thanks again for all the feed back.

Thanks for that info, rookdygin.
If I were a movie producer or movie writer, I'd HAVE to interview you two for a movie.
The entire event is a wonder.
I guess the time flew by pretty fast.
Would you ever return there?

Again, thanks for all the replies and feedback.
Succubiluv, to answer your question about the stairs...No, my feet stayed on the ground, but as I moved forward I felt each step as 'press' against my body... IE: I'd step forward and feel the next step approx 6/8 inches forward and 6/8 inches higher than the last one on my body.

Have read your prompt reply.
The glass house image is intriguing as well.
It adds substance to the paranormal fact that spirits are able to manufacture tangible sensory info and project or reflect the results into our minds.
Noteworthy that, while you FELT the experience, she SAW it.
Shows supernatural control over human sensory perception.
Looking forward to your next post rookdygin.
One question-did you bodily go upward with each stair you climbed, or not?

Yeah, succubiluv is right on the money with this one.
In a story I submitted earlier about an old man I enocuntered, I explained how he appeared in a chair, one that I'd never seen before and one that disappaeared with him. If a chair can manifest, then why can't a house?!
Good point succubiluv.

succubiluv,
That is the best description I have heard about what I was feeling. My ex described what I was walking through, not as ecto, or mist but in detail, she told me later it was as if she was looking at a glass house that was made of colored, frostd glass.
I mentioned that I have another story that concerns a House in R.I. And I actually found the pictures I have of it. (what it looked like in the 1890's and what it looks like today) I'm going to post that story. Thanks again for the replys and posible explinations.

First time I've ever read a story like this one.
Truly a paranormal adventure.
The fact is that spirits are able to form and manipulate energy fields. This includes realistic object simulations.
Ectoplasmic images associated with seance experiences is an example on another level.
Personally I can relate to what you have described but not in that exact mode.
My experience involves spirit-produced simulations of the human body.
Not the bone structure but the curvature and presence of a human body can be felt with the hands.
The simulation seems to be produced by what feels like air pressure forming the shape or outline of the object.
The brain recieves this tactile information as representing tangible objects, and the hands follow the brain. A feeling of variable resistance is created according to the use and placement of the hands upon the simulated object.
In my experience, the more slowly and carefully the hands and fingers move upon the simulated object, the more solid that object seems to be.
Is this an approximation of your experience?
If so, please comment back.
And I'm so glad you shared this!

Thanks for the replies, my ex-wife...;) (still friends) didn't see any people, she was seeing the house as I walked through it. The pressure change, the best way to describe it anyway, was like stepping outside on a very humid day, the air was 'tangible', thick but not damp like humid air is. I wish I could describe it better.
I've been 'lurking here for many months and enjoy all of the stories and I finally worked up the nerve to post one of my own.
I agree that the energy required to cause that would be, well considerable. We researched the property and there had been a farm on the property in the late 1800, early 1900's but there were no news articles about anything 'bad' ever happening on the property. So what could have caused the house itself to leave an imprint? Oh and we were never able to 'pinpoint' the farmhouses location, just that the property had once been a large farm that had been sold off in parcels until it was all built on, owned by the city or developers.

Now that was one very peculiar story but absolutely fascinating so thank you for sharing!
You ask what was the encounter you had that day to which the obvious answer would be... A ghostly house as the idea of residual haunting which simply leaves an inprint on time would be completely out of the question as it is just energy and not matter which leads me to my question:what kind of energy was it or what was the amount of energy generated to make the house materialize and become tangible if not visible by you? I've heard of people claiming they have bumped on a ghost or felt touched, pushed, slapped-even I dare say I felt "resistance" when trying to push my way through a misty figure that had poked her head through my sheets but to actually feel the stairs, tables and chairs that must have been a tremendous amount of energy produced by who? The people your wife saw? I'm at a loss...
