Next time this happens, I would sternly address whatever it is that you can't see, put on a little show for your child, telling the unseen thing that he/she is not welcome, must leave, and to stop scaring your family. This would also show your child that you have an understanding of what he is seeing, also taking control of the situation, should an entity actuall be there. (Which I believe may be the case, considering your family history)

it is said that children are far more sensitive to spirits then adults he might just be seeing spirits but he doesn't know what they are
But I wouldn't tell him though cause that might just scare him more
This is just another possiblity other then night terrors
Just do what you think is best

Just a bit of experience speaking here. If you take him to his pediatrician, chances are you will be told that he is having "night terrors" and there is nothing that can be done about them. "All children have them," is what I was told. My daughter's former pediatrician also said it was nothing to worry about; not brought on by nerves/stress (she had just turned 5 and was going to start Kindergarten in a couple of months). 😠He was wrong. I'm not suggesting that what happened with my daughter is what is going on with your son, but I would suggest you watch him and start keeping a journal of his "incidents." (Not a good word, but can't think of anything better right now.)
All my sympathies are with you. I know what it's like to hold your baby and cry because there is nothing you can do to help them.

I experienced the "other possibility" with my daughter. I just didn't want to scare motherof2 if that isn't the case with her son. Although I think my first comment probably suggested that there was more to my daughter's experience than night terrors.
It is a story I plan on submitting since it marked the beginning of my daughter's experiences.
I truly hope that motherof2 has a better time of it than I did.
