Thank you everyone for commenting and giving me different aspects that can help me find out what I saw. I feel more at ease knowing that there are people out there that believe me. It means so much to me 😊 If I find any information about the house, I will update.
MAPO: Just feeling his presence and seeing him in front of me is what scared me.
Jlaz1020: Although it's horrible to hear that you saw him, it gives me assurance to know I'm not the only one (if I in fact did see him). I hope you are okay after seeing him.
EmeraldAngel: 😊 Thank you. It was bothering me for years and not being able to open up about it just made me feel crazy. I have not seen him since and hope I don't again. One experience is too much.
Dottie78: It's okay. My mom had tried to figure out whether there were any deaths in the family at that time. Thank goodness no one had. This happened 10 years ago.
Inferno: It's a possibility. But I can remember very clearly turning when I checked the time and feeling my eyes adjust to the dark. Thank you for the possibility, I will look more into sleep paralysis.
Cosmogal926: It was. Thank goodness nobody passed after seeing him.
Pendragon: It could have been him or maybe not, I'm still not entirely sure. That's interesting to hear about family members who visit those that will soon pass. Farmer is a likely possibility. The city I live in used to be a farming town back in the late 1800s and early 1900s, but would the farmers wear cloaks? I will look into the house to find out more. Although I don't live there anymore (I live right across from it though) perhaps I can finally find an answer. Thank you, I hope so too.
DARKNESS: That's very interesting. I have never heard that before. That's pretty scary.
Badtay16: I agree. I will look into the house. I don't live there anymore but I live a couple feet away from it. My cousin now lives in the house and he has felt some pretty creepy things in there. This was not my only experience there. There were more (although not as scary) but it leads me to believe that there is some history in that house that wasn't exactly good. I will update when or if I find information about that house.
Ghostfox96: haha It wasn't the funnest, but I know what you mean. It still bothers me. Hopefully you don't have to go through something like this.
Angeleye: I'm sorry to hear about your grandma. Yes, I have heard that sometimes the Grim will just roam around. Thank you for the advice. If I ever see him again (I hope I never ever do) I will try not to pay any attention nor make contact with him. I was just lucky that he wasn't looking at me. I hope after seeing him, you are okay. Same here. It really creeps me out.

Hey! I just wanted to let you know about the Grim Reaper. If this spirit was carrying a scythe its a most likely chance that was the Grim. But it's very rare for him to appear, without taking away someone's life. I have met him in my dream, and about a year or so later my grandma had passed away. If none of you family members or people you know have passed away then the Grim is probably just roaming around. I must say if you ever see him again [ which I doubt ] Don't try to make contact with him, ignore it as much as you can. He may or may not be friendly but even thinking of him gives me the shivers.

wow, I cannot even begin to imagine what that would have been like for you.
I half wish something like this would happen to me to see how I react to a situation like that but the other half of me knows I wouldn't be able to get over something like that, it would never leave me and eventually eat me up.
Lmao 😊

I would agree with Penny I would reshearch about the house to see if anyone died in the house. I'm certain it was not the grim uness someone died. I hope you figure out what it is.

I have heard in some cases entities, spirits, etc I'm not saying DEMON although this would be more up there alley, have the ability to appear to you in an appearance that you yourself are most afraid of. This maybe be for example the form of the grim reaper, an evil clown, or if your afraid of dolls making them move etc. I know this is a bit out there but it is also something to consider.
Thanks for sharing.

I'm going to have to agree with Inferno - I don't think it was actually the Grim Reaper, unless either of your parents or your brother died after you saw him. Even then, the Grim Reaper seems to be getting lazy in his old age. He now, commonly, sends family members back to get those who will be dying shortly. The lazy bum.
I would look into the history of your house, and see if any farmers had died there - In the days before tractors, farmers would use large scythes to harvest their fields. Maybe see if there used to be a farmer's field near your house. It could explain some things.

That must have been quite a scary sight. I would have been terrified too. I was going to ask the same question as Dottie78. Did anyone you know pass away after you saw it?

Well since you just woke up it could be sleep paralysis. It could have all been fake (at least that is what I would hope for) The Grim Reaper usually does not show itself unless death is near, and usually death would be near to you if you were going to die.

I'm sorry you saw such a horrible figure! Hopefully seeing this figure didn't mean anything. After seeing this, were there any deaths in your family? I'm assuming this happened a long time ago?

Hey, your not crazy and lots of people have had similar experiences. There are a lot of openminded people here so you won't have to worry, I'm thinking what you saw was a shadow person or it could be Mr. Grim but who knows really have you seen it at all anymore? Keep us updated, Katherine.

the same thing happened to me when I way younger. I was sleeping in my room and I turn toward the door for no reason in the middle of the night. I see the grim reaper float from my door to the foot of my bed and it just stared at me. Then it sank down under my bed. I pulled the covers over my head and I guess I went back to sleep.

most people on this site probily will believe you. That's what the site is for. From waht is sounds like it was a shadow person. It might have had a scythe because when they die what they had on, in there hands, there area they were in, etc... Is what stays with them. Did the fact that it was there scare you or did he give off fear?
