Did I Open Myself To Possession?

I found this site yesterday after having an experience just before going to bed.

Two nights ago I was up late, it was around 2 am and I had just decided to go to sleep.

I live in a studio apartment with my girlfriend so when I am in bed I can see pretty much the whole apartment except for the restroom and everything seemed fine, no strange shadows or anything.

I decided to listen to my ipod before going to sleep and put the covers over my head so that the light from the screen wouldn't bother my girlfriend, I was laying on my back with the covers completely covering my head when I felt a hot breath on my right ear. At first I wasn't sure if it was real, but the more I thought about it the more sure I was that it was something else, not my girlfriend, who was facing the other way.

At this point I was very conscious of my body, where my hands were, the way my legs were laid out, the way I was breathing, everything.

I started feeling scared and kept listening to my ipod just to break the silence and keep my thoughts away from the breath I felt on my ear when I noticed that my left thumb was making circles in the air. I quickly caught myself and moved my hand to my chest wondering how it was that I didn't know my hand and thumb were moving. A couple of minutes later I noticed that my right hand had moved on its own as well, and I caught myself and moved it back to where it was.

I don't mean to say that something was moving my hands, I'm pretty sure it was me, but I don't have any recollection of my hands physically moving, one second my hand was on my chest, the next it was in the air, as if for a split second I lost control of my body and regained it a second later.

I stayed awake for another hour or so but nothing happened and I eventually went to bed.

The next night (last night) I was sleeping and had two horrible dreams, I mean terrifying.

And in between those two dreams I had sleep paralysis, once my body and once I couldn't turn my head, but I could speak and made grunting sounds to help free myself.

During one of the dreams I heard myself saying "no!" and "stop it!", this was a dream where I inadvertently opened myself up for demonic possession. If you want to know about the dreams I can post them as a comment but I don't really want to go into them here.

What is going on? Has anyone experienced anything like this? Can I do anything?

i've had an experience like this not that long ago. I was sleeping and had a terrible nightmare. I was freaking out in the dream to the point of tears and suddenly, as I woke up, I found that my hand was randomly in the air. I don't know how it happened but it did.

I had another experience at a friends house since the one I described here and ended up leaving the house at 3 am because I didn't want to spend the night there. But that is unrelated to these experiences I think.

My girlfriend and I smudged our apartment with sage and nothing has happened since then.

Thank you for all of your advice and thoughts. Best wishes.

I would not put too much stock in that dream. I think it was your mind's way of expressing your fear of inviting spirits in by reading about them. I do not think that you can invite spirits in by reading about them unless you really start to obsess over it and cannot stop.

Try to get history of the place where you are staying. Also if you feel anything wrong in that place please change it. May be this is a starting and can bring to any limit so to avoid all these try to take precausion now onwards. If these things are until happening then demonic possession is on you. I hope this will get over soon. Change the place.

During hands-off spiritual healing it is common to let light beings guide ones movements, so I guess it is possible when your mind is in a relaxed or weakened state that other beings might also be able to manipulate a persons body. Perhaps the movements of the hands were just it testing to see if it could or not. If it's clever it'll move on but you may want to create a deterant against it for when you sleep, just to be sure.

Bleeping terrifying! I agree with Nysa. I think your dreams may have just been your subconsious trying to process whatever's been happening to you.

Have you noticed anything else strange or out of place since you first noticed these occurrances? Have you spoken with your girlfriend about it? Has she had any experiences? What's her take on the whole thing?

Best,
Fanny ❤

Dreams are funny -- click here to download a demon lol. That is a sign of the times if I have ever seen one.

I do not see any reason to believe that there is anything paranormal in dreams, no matter how bizarre or realistic. It does, though, seem that our dreams are a way of reviewing info that our conscious mind edits out during the day. It suggests that at least a small part of you worries that thinking about such things makes you vulnerable to them. Which of course does not make sense or authors of horror stories, people who make props for horror films for a living, & people who run websites for ghost stories would need weekly exorcisms & would be positively tripping over ghosts.

I should explain the dream,

In the dream I was surfing the internet and on a ghost/paranormal site.
I found a link that would download to my computer that had information about a particular demon, it gave a short description of the demon and it sounded a lot like what had been happening to me, so I clicked on the download.

Then I scrolled down a little further and there was a big banner that said: WARNING DO NOT CLICK THIS LINK UNLESS YOU WANT THE DEMON TO BE INSIDE YOU!
As soon as I read that in my dream I woke up, but I was paralyzed. My head felt like it was empty and someone was pouring water into it, I guess the demon or whatever it was, was "downloading" into my head. Then I yelled "No!" and "Stop it!", that woke me up and the feeling in my head stopped.

Luckily, since then nothing had happened. Maybe it went away?

I'm not sure what you mean by "inadvertently" opening yourself to demonic possession either. Please do explain further. 😕

You had me up until the point that you said you opened yourself to demonic possession in your dream. How exactly does one do that? I am not sure about that part.
