But I have this experience to tell. I was recently in a very big manoir in the deep countryside of Ireland. 16 friends and I had rented the place for a rest and a bit of fun. They did a ouija board session that I watched but didn't want to participate in. But these friends I really trusted and on several occasions during this seance the upturned glass would move slowly but at the same time rotating on itself. I could tell it was all real because the girls ams were aching from having to follow the turning glass. But some of them had had a little glass of wine. Don't know if that would have made a big diiference. But I found it very interesting.

tempestmoong,
Welcome and well met.
I walked away from both a Roman Catholic and Baptist 'background' when I was twelve... Lets just say I didn't like what I was seeing in one (Catholic) and hearing in the other (Baptist). I never lost my Faith in Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ.
Through out my entire time of Growth as a Solo Practicing Witch (Wiccan) I would say my Prayers and ask for the Guidance of the Holy Spirit... So that's how I reconcile things... I never 'turned my back' on Heavenly Father or Christ...I've always asked for Their guidance.
Matthew 7 7-10 is a place I took a great amount of inspiration from.
Also see Mark 9 38-41 and John 14 12-14. There are other quotes to be sure... But if your Faith is Strong and you call Upon Heavenly Father you will know in your Heart and Mind if these are 'deeds' you may preform.
Please e-mail me if you have more questions as this is waxing WAY RELIGIOUS and this site is for Sharing and Receiving Advice or Help Concerning Ghosts and Spirit activity...
Respectfully,
Rook

Rook,
I have to agree that these guys were morons.
That being said I have had strange experiences all of my life and I have had people try to get me to use a board and for some reason I won't and I used to own a tarot deck.
I am a christian (southern baptist though I'm from Mi.) How do you reconcile your faith in the lord and your wiccan faith?
One story of mine I think you should read but as I haven't been on this site long I haven't posted it yet. But I will.

dogboy114,
The sad fact is that it could be done. However saying that I am NOT going to explain how it may be done as that falls into the 'Black magic / Dark Arts... Bad Ju Ju category. Binding a 'free spirit' to a location is WRONG as it either prevents them form crossing over or it prevents the spirit/entity, from returning to where they were summoned from. It is just plain wrong to do such a thing.
So tell your 'Friend' that this is not a good thing to attempt.
Respectfully,
Rook

Make a place haunted? As in trap a disembodied soul in a house? What exactly do you think a ghost is? I have seen several young people on this site & similar ones talking about ghosts & demons like they are pets. I have always assumed that most are simply pretending in order to "shock" or sound experienced, but the attitude behind such statements is deeply disturbing.

What if you want to use one to make a certain place haunted? 🤔 Is there any way you can get the ghost to stay at that certain place or does it follow the person that uses it?

I don't believe you should dabble in something when you can't control it. I don't generally believe in ghost or paranormal stories, yet. I like being a critic.
But intoxication plays a major role for people who practice magick. The explanation, well, to some part of which I agree is the effect that results in altered state of mind, leading to a heightened sense of perception to things happening around. If I may suggest, research about 'aghoris'. They are supposed to be the most powerful dark arts practitioners in India and not even priests or even very religious or pious person dare cross their path. To me its an old wives tale, if it interests you though, its an interesting topic.

I and my friend, smoked some weed, I went to my hibernate mode (I don't generally open my mouth when intoxicated or high, causes hell lot of problems) and that a$$ saw the movie pulp fiction where that lady goes into heart attack after OD-ing and this guy started thinking he himself was having a heart attack and started running on road shouting "I need a doc". What if he had seen a ghost movie or a gore movie. And a guy another friend of mine started seeing dead people after consuming acid. Damn! People! I guess those guys you mentioned would have seen their own faces!

playing with the ouija board on acid sounds like the dumbest thing you could possibly do lol. The thought has crossed my mind before, being that playing ouija and doin shrooms were the 2 greatest spiritual moments I have had, combining them just sounds terrifying. Just thinking if something went wrong and you don't know if your just trippin balls or your being possessed makes me want to throw up.

Haha this was a really funny story somehow 😆!
Using ACID and then an OUIJA board - what a perfect idea!
Sounds like those guys willingly wanted to fool their own perceptions.
Seeing "entities with horns and hoofs"... Yes... Sure...
C'mon, give me a break dudes, the hallucinogen "showed" you those creatures, so to say your own mind!:D
Maybe much better those people stop using Ouija, and stop using acid aswell^^! Please...?
I totally agree with Zeo in all of his points!
And I would like to add that sometimes it is really a shame HOW people use Ouija.
I even dare to say that it's many people's own fault to get a "spiritual slap in the face" once in a while just because of wrong (and not serious!) usage.

Because a spirit strong enough to make contact really needs soap assistance to move the planchet.
Hey,
I agree that drug abuse and Ouija Board usage does "NOT" mix at all. It's bad enough that most naive users, drink alcohol at the same time and expect to be sober enough to tell the difference between real activity and their none-sober imagination.
*sigh*
I doubt anyone will respect the spirit world like they should. There's two types of people I have met, and they are:
1) The naive type that abuse the board to get "proof" that spirits exist. Yet not realising that the spirit world, just like the living world, has jokers that abuse people's insecurities.
2) The type that believe rumours and fear a board, when it's not the board that's dangerous, it's the users and how it's used. While again, not realising that going around telling people that coardboard is evil, or wood, will achieve nothing in regards to helping people.
Bleh~
Thank you for sharing this experience, it's a good topic to debate.
Looking forward to more of your posts,
Zeo

Lou,
Negative Entities love to 'hit' us in weakened states. Be it emotional lows or Drink or Drug induced 'hazes'. So it's possible that something may have attempted, at some time or another, to 'use them' as they used this board. All it takes is Bad Judgment and a weakened state of mind and it gives negative energy/entities a hand hold... A way in... If you will. The paranormal is not a playground for immaturity.
I find it interesting that no one has asked 'how the board' broke. I admit nothing happened when we used the board. I never said 'nothing paranormal' happened with-in this entire experience. While I can not be positive that 'I' caused the glass to fracture I know I focused on it to do so after they had left the house with it... This however is a question I do not think I will ever have an answer for...it's funny though how I 'wished' it to break and it did.
Respectfully,
Rook

Great story! I don't understand why those people would use such a drug and then actually think what they experienced (if anything at all) was real...
Lou that is a really good point a piece for each person that used it maybe do you think?
It is good to know that among the many bad experiences with these boards sometimes absolutely nothing at all can happen too. 😊

Hey Rook, I'm glad to see your back with another interesting post for discussion. 😁 I guess the idea of a glass Ouija board which allows you to see the actual spirits was actually better then the end product. I can just imagine how disappointing it was to see a poor replica of the Parker Bros. Edition. The fact that they were under the influence while claiming to see such entites brings it down to an even lower level. Plus it seems that they didn't even have a clue regarding the ritual. I guess in a way it's better that it turned out to be a dud. If it had actually worked, who knows what kind of evil might have been unleashed.

So...I guess I'm the only one who noticed that their were three owners of this board, and it eventually broke into three pieces?
The following is more a discussion point than a strong feeling on this particular occurrence.
I am completely confident that if something paranormal happened at the session you described, Rook, you would have picked up on it. But is it possible that a less aggressive spirit would take advantage of the users' altered state; to gain some courage?
The majority of our population is afraid when they experience something paranormal... Has it ever occurred to anyone that spirits could be afraid of us?

Lilady,
This is not a tool I recommend, while I believe it works, I'm just not comfortable with using one (based on personal experience). But here are some tips if you are truly determined to use one.
First, it's not a game. It is a tool for making contact with Spirit's.
Second, work with two to three experienced people. This will ensure that proper 'protectives' are in place. It will also ensure that the session is 'opened and closed' properly.
Third, ensure your personal shields are in place, this is a great way to ensure nothing 'attaches' itself to you during the session.
Fourth, try to avoid the use of a 'store' bought 'game board'. These are mass produced and even if people have lots of experience using one there are no shields or protection 'spells' built into it nor are any covered in the direction for 'game play'.
Lastly, keep your mind open, not everything that happens is Paranormal... Do not allow yourself to get 'suckered in' by someone selling 'snake oil'.
Respectfully,
Rook

Interesting story here, rookdygin. I don't believe in the use of drugs, legal or otherwise, whilst contacting Spirit. I've heard that you should not have electronic devices running or use substances such as drugs or alcohol, whilst using a Ouija Board. I, for one, am very interested in using a Ouija Board, any tips?

First let me thank everyone for the comments... It seem the majority agree Ouija Boards are bad things... Not to be played with and possibly be avoided at all costs.
To those who are curious...I'm not sure anything was released when the board broke... However if I were to hazard a guess it would be NO... I NEVER, at any point, felt as if this 'board' had contacted any type of spirit whatsoever.
Lazria,
Do you know when this wooden board you have 'in custody' was made? I ask because I may not use, or recommend the use of a Ouija Board but I have seen them work for certain individuals or 'Covens'. Having said that each had taken the steps to 'create' their own boards taking the time to build in Protective 'spells' as well as 'Limiting' spells (a 'spell' that limits the amount of energy the contacted Spirit can use while 'summoned' by those using the board). It sounds as if the board you have may have something like that carved into the wood as well.
Again thanks to all who commented, if we are to keep this Field of Investigation creditable we need to avoid 'drug related' investigations or the use of any Physic Tools while under the influence of any mind altering drugs. I know there are people out there who say certain 'chemicals' make it easier to contact the spirit world...that's fine... After all I've been through, all I've seen and experienced while SOBER, I don't understand how an 'ALTERED STATE' can 'add or assist' in ones ability to interact with the Paranormal.
Respectfully,
Rook

Rook: Thank you for a very enlightening account... Drugs of any kind (including alcohol) should never be mixed with the paranormal... First of all, how are you to know whether the experience is real or not?...Second, when one is in such a weakened mental and spiritual state, nasty stuff has a way of sneaking in...
I'm curious though: did any of the three experience any activity after the board broke and potentially "released the spirits" of the board?...Because if so, that's just down right hilarious! 😆

Finally a story of some one played with the board and nothing happened.
I have been wanting to read a story like this for a long time since most of the stories I read are about bad experience which are helpful but I wanted to read a story where nothing happen.
I think It was justice too when the board broke in three peices thanks for sharing 😁

Rook,
The image of these yahoos high on hallucinogens and trying to invoke spirits is frightening to say the least. And when you put that together with the increasing interest in the paranormal these days, it's no wonder the reports of spiritual activity seem to have more Hollywood style and less actual believable content. The fact that they were so insistent their experiences were real is what upsets me. It muddies the water and chips away at any credibility that serious paranormal research has been striving to obtain.
The paranormal is what you are left with only after eliminating all other avenues and possibilities as causes of the occurrence under question. These yahoos went way off the beaten path in their attempts to produce one of their own. There are many more out there just like them, and what frightens me is their ability to procreate.
Thank you for bringing this discussion to the table Rook. Your timing is impeccable, as usual.

i once knew a couple, who thought that using a ouija board would be kind of fun, they watched paranormal activity the movie and thought it would be interesting to see what happens. But they forgot to count their daughter into their foolish little thoughts. A month or so after doing their foolish deed their daughter aged 5 would be found at night talking to someone that wasn't even there. When asked who she was talking to? She told them CHARLIE. Who is charlie they said? He is my friend and he is very poorly, so he looks different. How different they said? She only said CHARLIE said you have to leave now. When they told me this I just told them that most children have an imaginary friend. Thats when they told me what they had done, I won't go into to much detail, but let's just say I told them off and gave them the number for some much needed parenting classes and a website on ouija boards and the danger they can bring upon you and your loved ones if not used properly... Lets just say I haven't spoken to them in a while. I guess they didn't like what I had to say about them bringing danger on their only child... Its foolish and really stupid for anyone to ever use one regardless if you know what your doing. 😠

Drugs are bad...M'Kay... To believe these fools thought they were "contacting" spirits while on drugs, such the foly of fools and madmen.
I do give props for attempting to destroy what could have been a poptentualy (sp) harmful object, glad Karma finished what you couldn't. I myself have a "wooden" Ouija board that I do NOT use, (re-read that people, I DO NOT USE IT) I possess it rather to prevent fools & the unready from playing with something they have no idea about. The board has "summoning" symbols drawn on it that as soon as I saw it I knew it would cause issues. It once caused me issues, even though I know how to protect & dispell correctly. It is now stored seprately from the planchet, with wards and seals keeping things from wandering too close. No, I am not going to destroy it, just a gut feeling that that act would be more detremental than keeping it out of foolish hands.
Nice non-paranormal story:)

Hi Rook, Thanks for sharing. It's so strange that commonsense is so uncommon to certain individuals. I totally agree with you on the fact to stay away from that kind of board games if you don't have the experience to use it properly. I must add that these people that experience all these hallucinations from drugs live in their own word, and to them it's real what they see. I nursed many patients on drugs and they do intend to see weird stuff. I remembered one of my patients was afraid of all the people entering her room and walked through the wall. She was so anxious the whole night, but it was drug related hallucinations. Take care. Trix. 😉

Thank you for sharing a story about a truly non-paranormal experience. It's a good way to show people that they can get hyped up over nothing. And when drugs are involved, all bets are off. You have no credibility. I'm glad you weren't sucked into the moment. Not like I think you would be. But it's good to show everyone that skepticism is sometimes the right way to go.

That...alright, I'm a big person, and I can admit it, that sounds a lot like what me and some friends of mine did at a birthday party back in the seventh grade. But, to my credit, I was in the seventh grade!
It worked somewhat, I guess.
Anyway, they were seriously dropping acid while playing with the ouiga board? And they thought the thing worked? Even if they do manage to open some door while high, they're just opening themselves up to very unpleasant things.
