I don't feel there's too much concern here. Spiritwaiting has connected Native American descent, there is nothing wrong with using amulets, altars, and anything else with getting in touch with a spiritual side. But this also goes for anyone getting in touch with their ancestral beliefs.

I'm concerned about a mom with children doing "rituals." Period.

My Path, it seems as though your path for now is raising your kids in a healthy, worldly world, and my concern is that you are disconnecting and focussing on your "altars" which, while I certainly appreciate your interest in your ancestry, could at the least take time away from those who need you and at the worst pull you into something you don't know anything about. It sounds as though you've made up your mind to journey around the world, but that can also be construed as a cry for help (from the perspective of a reader). Perhaps you should try and focus more on your life and not intangible and mysterious things? Absolutely no disrespect meant, only concern.

Upon proofing this, I realize I come off as judgmental. But I think when you have children you should put their needs first and I would advise my own kids that, because I love them.

Am I the only person who was concerned when reading this?
