Hi White Buffalo: Thank you for responding, and of course, anyone else who has an opinion is invited to respond, as well.

In response to your statement that thousands of people have witnessed or experienced these creatures, and therefore the creatures must exist, I say that your argument does not contain a credible premise. Once upon a time, thousands of people knew for certain that the world was flat and that the sun revolved around the earth. We now know these things to be absolutely untrue. Saying that lots of people believe, therefore it must be true is no good. Please don't misunderstand me: I'm not saying that the creatures don't exist (although I personally believe that they do not); I'm saying your argument in support of their existence is weak.

That being said, I understand that you want to eliminate all the possibilities, hence Byluyster is being made to perform these (yet to be explained) coin and salt tests, but we have authorities within our realms of experience for a reason. You wouldn't teach yourself how to conduct surgery if your son needed his tonsils out, would you? Of course not, you'd go to a doctor. In this case, I believe an authoritative guide is the very elegant Occam's Razor (1).

In the meantime, I'd agree that for some people here, the idea of a mischievious trickster is very plausible (2), however, it is highly improbable and I feel that Byluyster should quit wasting her time chasing literary figures and on superstitious ritual and examine the most probable causes of her problems first.

See, galleygal you have hit on the exact reason that some of us are here. All kinds of similar creatures are based in legend and myth. Being a myth would imply that it is NOT based in fact, and yet hundreds upon hundreds of people have witnessed, or experienced SOMEthing having to do with various mythological beings. There HAS to be a reason... All these people can not be wrong, nor can this all be a case of Mass Hallucination.
So, to answer your question on whether or not we believe in these beings... "Belief" is a touchie word, and can be taken many a way. I, for one, DO believe that there CAN be such creatures. I do not KNOW that they exist, I have no FAITH in them, but I do strongly feel that there IS a possibility. It is just OUR job to look at all the facts and see if the possibility is plausible.

BYLUYSTER, I must first let you know that the reason I asked about your sons age is that I am sure you already hold the knowledge that Poltergeist activity is most prevalent between the ages of 11 and 25. That is NOT to say that this could not occur in the presence of one younger or older, it is just the age frame that seems most susceptible. In that he is 26, he is not "out of the woods", as no matter WHERE he goes, there could be some activity. Though that form of activity does seem to enjoy the home environment, there have been cases in which it travels where the person travels.
I do not think you have a poltergeist.
There was absolutely NO change in the coins? None were slid over just a mite? None were flipped over from the original side you placed them on? Nothing on the table was slid closer to them? There was no change in the direction of the triangle the coins formed? No "tilting" of the triangle?
If not, I would suggest sprinkling a bit of salt (yep, table salt will do nicely) on the table, replacing the coins and with one finger on top of each coin, in turn, draw one small circle in the salt with the coin. Do not clean this up. Leave the three in the triangle, and surrounded by salt.
The process of eliminating all the possibilities does take time, please be patient. Know this though, your first "test" proved that there was no trickster in your HOME at that point in time. Tell me, did anything happen outside the home as it has in the recent past, that would make you think of a trickster? Or was it all a ho hum day where everything just "clicked"?
Thank you.

Hello, it is 9:30 p.m. Where I live and I just checked the table. The coins are just as I left them this morning. I sure do hope that this means that a Trickster IS NOT a force in our lives, but I am nervous about the alternatives.

Whitebuffalo, please tell me what all this means. Am I just making a big to do out of nothing or could there really be something behind this...maybe associated more with family than a Trickster? For reasons that I can't go into here, I have reasons to think so. But will check back later to find out what you think.

It's to rain here tomorrow...so no hay hauling. I want to get started but feel an overwhelming need for "time off". I just hope a break in the action may slow down this whole thing.

Today when things happened, I flew mad and told it to go away and laughed about it. Like when the calendar kept falling off the wall and my clock quit working...

Thanks again to all of you for helping me with this. I will keep you posted on any developments.

God Bless,
Byluyster

Right, so I did a bit of looking around and found that the trickster is something I am familiar with, albeit as a figure of literature and myth, like Shakespeare's Puck or Prometheus. I don't know how to ask this politely, so I'm just going to ask: do you guys really believe in this? No offense intended, I just want to know.

Man, I feel so guilty, waiting for Byluyster to do that coin test so I can know what happens! I almost hope that is IS a trickster at work, because, presumably, that is something that can be controlled, as opposed to just circumstance...or can it? Can they be banished once discovered?

Hmm, I think in the first place, it came from a animal, thanks to BYLUYSTER and whitebuffalo for the info.
😁

How was it?

No problem Whitebuffalo, glad you explained it more indepth for all of us. I know others think like I do, you are a wealth of knowledge who sometimes does not get the credit you deserve. You certainly have mine.

My son is 26 years old and has noticed that as he ages his senses seem to get keener. It is to the point that he knows when things are going to happen. And he feels he can share this with me. Like I always say to both of my kids, "When I say I know, I know." Since this rash of "bad luck" or whatever it is, I have warned them both to be extra careful at all times. They know they better listen, for time will prove I'm right.

Looking forward to the experiment. But I must make this point clear, my kids are not living at home. It's just me, my husband and our dog...yet I am in contact with the children and they both know what has been and is going on.

Dreams seem to have a role in our "knowing" ability, especially in my son's case. Countless times he calls and says, "Wait until you hear this." Then something happens, either good or bad. Weird...

Will keep you posted and anymore questions, let me know.

God Bless,
Byluyster

starfalz,
To add to ChildOfTheLotus answer, it can also be found in incense form and a potpourri like liquid to place in a burner. It is often used in exorcisms and like ceremonies.
True dragons blood comes from the resin of the Dracaena species of plant life. It is a deep red and a very poisonous mineral. Thus the name dragon (a deadly creature) blood (the deep color).
Despite it's poisonous quality, it is also used for medicinal purposes, in it's true form. It is a varnish, a dye, a body oil, used in spells for protection, love, banishing, sexuality, it promotes healing and stops bleeding. AND it can cleanse a space of negative entities or influences.
Kind of a "jack of all trades" form of incense. But should not be used for everything as it IS said to be mightily powerful.

Sorry for the interruption, BYLUYSTER. You KNOW I had to come back and answer the question. πŸ˜‰
Thank you.

You bet, no problem at all.
My main concern is also about anyone getting hurt. That is why it is important to test and make SURE that this IS a trickster.
The alternative energy is just as scary if you really sit and think about it. By the way, how old IS this son that shares your talent? THAT could be a factor, as well.
As for life. <shrug> Eh, you take the good, you take the bad, and pray all turns out right, the way the Great Spirit intended. We've had months (even years if you want to lump it all into one situation) where it seemed just about everything took a twist after leaving our will and things just crashed and burned.
Good luck to you. My prayers and chants go with you and yours. I will be looking forward to reading what happened.
Thank you.

Whitebuffalo, thank you so much to coming to my aid. I will try this tomorrow and post my findings tomorrow night. I pray it is "life", but it's been going on for so long and now if it doesn't rain, we are to haul more hay this weekend. I know, things happen, I get that, because they usually do but never to the point of someone actually getting hurt. That's my main concern. But I will try your suggestion.

I am glad to have this site to come to when I just don't understand...knowing that people are there to listen and offer help makes any experience more bareable. Thanks.

Will post my findings tomorrow night, please say a prayer for me and my family.

God bless,
Byluyster

Hey guys, may I join this topic?

I wonder is this problem of yours just caused by fate or the trickster...
Let's wait the result of your experiment...
Good luck!

And for whitebuffalo,
What is a dragon's blood?
Blood of a lizard or something?

Exactly, LouSlips.
IF this is a trickster, it would not be able to resist the challenge. On the other hand, if this is the ENERGIES of the PEOPLE involved, as long as they do not know what the exact TEST is, they can not manipulate it. Knowingly or not.
Galleygal, I would LOVE to write out exactly what SHOULD happen if this is a trickster, but the truth of the matter is, IF it is KNOWN by someone who COULD be able to... Uh... Change their environment, let's just say, it could happen just as a fluke. Rest assured, if BYLUYSTER posts the findings, I will explain it out.
My theory is this. There could be three things going on there. One: A straight out Trickster. Or two: the gift that both BYLUYSTER and son SHARE could be strong enough to "help" things malfunction (I could elaborate on that further in the future, as well). Or three: Life.
You gotta test the theory before coming to a hypothetical conclusion. Because, let's face it. This is all in the realm of the Unknown, and AS such, they are all simply theories.
Thank you.

whitebuffalo: What does a change (or no change) in the coins signify? Or must we wait for byluyster to do the test before you say?

KimSouthO,
I would be more than happy to NOT know what a trickster is. A group I belong to helped a family tormented by one, and it now torments us...waiting to engage us again because it relishes the challenge and considers us worthy adversaries.
As WhiteBuffalo relates, I too have had way too much experience in farming...everything breaks and always at the worst time...but that does not make it paranormal. Byluyster, you mentioned that yourself and your son are sensitive, can you elaborate on some of your experiences?
WhiteBuffalo's recommendation, in my opinion and experience, is definitely worth a try. Even if a trickster knows it is being baited, its arrogance won't allow it to ignore the challenge.
WhiteBuffalo is wise:).

Well, sure, BYLUYSTER. There could be several reasons for a trickster taking on an entire family (I am sure that you have reached the part of your research that shows the similarities between poltergeist and tricksters), the main one could simply be that your family works and plays together, making you all an "easy target". If you all are in a bunch (like bowling pins), it is easier to get to you all at once.
But to tell you the truth, this almost feels like a case of "sounds like life".
I tell you, I have done my share of farm-work (well, not my FAIR share πŸ˜†) and it is not uncommon for the tractor to freeze, ropes to break, trucks to stall balers to back up, and all at the same time. That may just be in that usually the implements are purchased around the same time, or maintenance is done to them around the same time (makes sense to winterize and spring ready all implements before needed), or it may be in the workload at the time. For this region, it is a very busy time of year.
Here is a test for you to try out to see if it is "just life" or an actual trickster (dragons blood does seem to be the best, but it does chase away ALL spiritual beings, just a caution for you there). After a complete day off (yeah, right), when the entire family is well rested, place three coins on the dining table, in a triangle, and leave them there all day long. Do not touch them, and let the others know not to so much as look at them much longer than the casual glance.
At the end of the day, what do you notice about the coins?
Try not to over analyze, just observe. If there is no change <shrug> just note that. If there is something different, just note it, do not try to rationalize it. Just ASK everyone if they messed with them.
After that day, please post your findings. We will take things from there.
Deal?
Thank you.

Sorry I haven't been able to get back to you posters, but our truck started acting up...had to make a run to the store for a new battery (not sure that's even the real problem yet) and on last Sunday, I hunted for a specific and very special necklace...but it wasn't where I had put it. The next day I checked again...and there it was! No one knew where it was but me?

I appreciate all of your comments and will certainly try your suggestions. I at first thought it was just "things" that happen, but this somehow is different and scary. I will definitely try to reason with it.

As for other strange things that have happened...my son talked about feeling something was interfering with his life, both in a positive and negative way. He is very sensitive, just like me. But as for others experiencing entities...if they have they keep it to themselves.

We've had our run of "bad luck", like a lot of people but I swear this has an evil feeling associated with it. I pray it grows tired of the games or realizes it no longer gets to us. I have been trying to head it off the best I can, but I am losing my patience.

Is there any reason why a Trickster would single out my family and acquaintances? I am of Indian decent. I was wondering what Whitebuffalo thought about this...

Thanks to all, and I will keep checking back for more input.

God Bless,
Byluyster

LouSlips-the tricksters the author is writing about ARE paranormal. Thus, his mentioning them.

I agree that you must be firm and tell these 'things' they are not welcome in your home and to leave. Say prayers and let them know that the Lord is on your side.

God Bless!

I can't with certainty that I agree that it is a "trickster" messing with you. These are hard economic etc times for all of us. I would keep a clear head and pay extra attention to the details of your daily life and duties to ensure to the best of your abilities that such accidents do not happen. As an added precaution, just as ChildofTheLotus mentioned- say aloud your displeasure in a respectful tone. Keep us posted and good luck!

Tricksters have a strong sense of humor, and they think that some of the cruel things that they do to people are humorous. They are such jokers. If you're sure that's what you are experiencing, comment out loud on the tricks. Be honest toward the spirit, but try to be polite (they get offended).

Next time it pulls a mean trick on one of you, say something like, "Haha, that's very funny. Now give it a rest for a while." or "That trick went a little far. Please tone it down." Something like those comments would probably help the spirit to understand that you're tired of being tricked.

By,
By your own research and description of a trickster, your accounts only reflect bad occurrences that have happened to your family, and not anything paranormal. The occurrences with the tractor, haybales, etc...seem like too much to be just a coincidence; but have you seen, heard, felt any entities around you? I do have some experience with what you feel you are dealing with, and hope to help, so please fill us in on what paranormal activity that has been expeienced by your family.
