Marco: its a fairly simple technique used mainly... Well for protection should you come across somthing that makes you uncomfertable. It takes a bit of control so it may take some practice; recomended to practice when not under attack its a bit less stressful. First center your self with a slow breath through the nose out the mouth, also called grounding. In your case ill modify it a bit to accomidate your belief. Visulize the holy ghost/arch angel usualy a brilliant white light (which I believe you've allready seen. Fill your being with this light until you feel like you'll burst. That's the gist of it. Fill your self with holy energy thus leaving no room for the entity. For a more shielding approach the white can be seen as a blanket then wrapped around you. Hope that helps.

Lol Kardagen, it wasn't my intention to cause a huge debate like this, just needed some advice & sure, you can elaborate a bit more on your technique. Thanks for your comment though...

Marco29. Sparked quite the debate haven't we? Non-belivers and belivers locked in a verbal battle. And we wonder why both sides are angry, judgemental, argumentive. I my self am spiritual, I have no faith whatsoever in Christianity. But I heartly accept that it may be the right course depending on the faith of the one with the problem I.e. Marco. If the bickering arguments are done. If you are willing to take advise from my side of the coin I would offer to you. That when the next attack comes. Bring your own strength forward. Lend your strength to that which fights for you. Its all a mental imagery technique but it should work for you as well. If you wish I can explain further.

beliefs vs what we believe, lot of questions and needs some answer, I was reading this comments and I'm surprise after the sleep paralysis, goes to old hag syndrome down to SP's and down to religion... Come on guys! Every person has different points of view some look at it as this some seems like that, but we are here to share some practice and give some advice... I see all comments and its really interesting that you come and argue with a matter that has not been discuss... Well anyway RESPECT is what all we guys need, I'm a believer, I believe in christ, I'm not against those guys who prays to saints because that's what they believe, we only have one life, we should make the most out of it. And if Your God speaks of love then spread love to one another. π so guys will it be ok for to say "i love you to each other?"just kidding, well anyway let's just keep those advice flooding no more discussion about religion and beliefs because in the end it'll be marcos decision if he want to take your advice, just suggest... Unfortunately I don't have any suggestion, I myself need some help too. Ill keep looking on the postings so GOD bless us ALL... β€

Rashidah,
"storming the castle" is a sardonic way of saying, "Go ahead and attack the stronghold (i.e., management, the big chiefs, or any entrenched institution), good luck with that. But you're probably wasting your time."

Kate, why do you think for thousands people experience the same type or similar entity and theme to their experiences. You are looking at these much too superficially It is prudent to explore the spiritual since it is a spiritual issue.

You are right about Yahweh being brutal in the old testament. But we are under a new covenant now that preaches about love and forgiveness.
I beg you all to leave comments that actually advises Marco in his situation. Not to provoke him or others.
PLEASE THIS BICKERING HAS TO STOP. What may work for you may not work for others and vice versa.

"These are the very ones who followed Balaam's advice and caused the people of Israel to rebel against the LORD at Mount Peor. They are the ones who caused the plague to strike the LORD's people. Now kill all the boys and all the women who have slept with a man. Only the young girls who are virgins may live; you may keep them for yourselves."
Numbers 31:7-18
(This was ancient "war booty" and God's Prophet Moses, commanded it! Clearly Moses and God approve of the rape of virgins! So much for God's Word being *Perfect*...Rolls eyes.)

Dear galvon,
Don't take this wrong but I have some Question's:
What is your religion?
You know demons!? How?
You speak like your a God yourself, Why?
You said: "Not everything goes by the lord.
Its funny how you people mostly go to the lord for help"
Who else go to for help but the Almighty God?
In a time of Fear who else do you turn to but the One you rely on, the One who gave you your very life, God?
You said:
"Do you want to go in a discussion with me or do you fear me and hide behind your god?"
Why would we need to fear you?
I speak for myself, and with my own words. I will not hide behind God, for you are nothing to hide because of.

Scientific terms like sleep paralysis are no less valid than more fantastic terms like old hag phenomena. It all comes down to individual perception. One person's SP is another person's old hag phenomenom. Sometimes sticking to the boring scientific terms helps a person stay calm during the event.
Whatever we call it here, we didn't experience it. Marco29 did. If he says it was more than SP, it was more than SP.
In any case, this thread looks like it's turning into an argument. Have fun storming the castle π.

Honestly Kate you sound like if you have never had an encounter with spirits. And you sound very illogical π

It was a hypnagogic/pompic hallucination. Because your mind is still in the dreaming state, you can see, hear and feel things that aren't there. They're not all that uncommon during sleep paralysis.
Honestly, people here are far too eager to jump to religious/paranormal conclusions when there are perfectly logical explanations.

Hey Galvonne, I read all of yourquestions and criticisms. Christians believe in Christ because we have seen Him physically work in our lives. We know Him intimately because He lives witin us. We do allow His word to be our guide. How can you prove that every word of the Bible was inspired by man, I know that His Word is perfect, accurate, and timely. How do I know for sure, I live it every day. I see prayers answered everday, I see phophesy after prophesy come true, they are coming true right now as we speak. You are bitter because you want a God like Jehovah but you are scared you will have to give up your dirty little habits. When it comes to eternity we including you whether you like it or not only have 2 choices, choose Christ or reject Him... If you do not actively choose Christ you are inactively rejecting Him. You cannot sit on the fence. Christ died for you as well, Hius Holy Spirit has cracked a lot tougher than you. You prove to me that Jesus did not die for my sins, you prove to all the multitudes of people saved from the demonic by the mere mention of His name when all else had failed that He is not who He says that He is. I will talk with you all day about His almighty power. No scripture, no hiding, because He lives in Me. Let's do it.

You are asking a lot of questions. I can answer them all but I can't give you an explanation for my answers right now because there isn't enough time to explain. I'll be back on this site tomorrow around 5pm east coast time U.S.A. Now I want to watch Judge Judy and also I have to look up a lot of scriptures to explain my answers. Bye until tomorrow π

thats funny I am a non believer.
But arent we all god's children?.
The bible is made by humans should we truely believe it?.
Isnt the holy spirit in all of us? Believing or not?.
For god should never abondon his children would he?.
His angels protect us not?.
So why should he fail on that one person who has no faith in him.
Is that not unfair?.
And michael is he who is like god.
God's champion one of the main gaurdians of humanity the protector the fighter.
So why should'nt he be asked for help?
We do not command but ask help.

Dear Galvon,
I'm not exactly sure how to answer your question. I believe that the reason my type of advise might have failed is because the person who was using it did not have the Holy Spirit in him. It is the Holy Spirit that does the fighting and not us. Usually I give my advise to Christians because if non- Christians use it the demonic forces sometimes do get angry. I hope this answers your question a little bit.
Also I am a diabetic. I have type 1 diabetes. I've had diabetes since I was 7 years old. π β€ π

Dear Rashidah,
I don't think that it really helps to pray to Michael the archangel, because we can go straight to God for help. Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace in our time of need. People assume that because Michael is a warrior angel that he will come and help them whenever he is called. I think Michael the arch angel is only for God to command. In the book of Jude verse 9 it says But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, " The Lord rebuke you!"
It seems to me that Michael was prevented to fight against the devil. Michael also had to rely on the strength of God to deal with the devil, so us humans should rely on the strength of God to help us. β€ π β€

What is wrong in asking The Arch Angel Michael for help?
Did not he protected the Israelites? Is not God's Champion for the saints?
I have catholic friends that testifies that The saint Michael's prayer worked for them.
I myself say it everynight and I feel well protected and peaceful.
I have witnessed priests used that same prayer in successful exorcisms?
Even my church calls on him sometimes for protection and they are not even catholic.
I cannot get where you are coming from on this honey. π

Dear Marco,
It sounds like you are a Christian. You were attacked by another spirit. What do you expect? We are at war with the demonic forces. Here is my spiritual warfare technique.
1. Pray to God for help. Don't pray to Michael the archangel. Hebrews 4:16 and Jude 9
2. Put on the armor of God. Pray it on. Ephesians 6:10-18
3. Read the Bible out loud. Read your favorite Bible passages. Here are some of my favorites. John 3:16-17, John 14:6,Philippians 2:9-11, Colossians 2:15, Psalms 119:133, Romans 8:26-39.
4. Buy a small bottle of olive oil. Present it to God. Ask God to bless the oil. Use the oil only for anointing or blessing your house. Put some oil on your finger and make the sign of the cross on your window and door. As you are anointing say "I anoint this place in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Command the demonic forces to leave in the name of Jesus.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 in every room of your house.
6. Go to a door that leads to the outside. Open it and command the demonic forces to leave the house in the name of Jesus. Close the door and anoint it.
7. Do this once a week for 1-2 months, then do this once a month for 6 months then do this once a year.
If you are Catholic you can use Holy water instead of oil if you prefer. These steps don't have to be done at night, you can do them whenever you chose. I hope this helps. π β€ π

Hi Marco:
This sounds as if it were very frightening. You state that you sometimes see ghosts or demons; do you actually see these things or just feel them? Also, have you had any personal trauma going on... Besides this of course? And... Did your wife wake up?
Thanks and I just would like to help.

I believe since you sensed negative energy then the being was trying to hurt you. Just keep the faith and be strong in battling against it.
I believe you. And you are right this does not sound like 'sleep paralysis'. It sounds to me like a spirit was actually trying to harm you. There is a big difference.
I thank you for your post and sharing your experienceβ€

Marco--Welcome to the ranks of us who have experienced sleep paralysis. It is usually caused by extreme or prolonged stress or exhaustion. It is not a meaningless phenomenon, however, and I don't know that science has had the last word on its explanation.
Perhaps relative to this, you believe you've sensed other entities. Can any of the experiences be connected? It may be simply a matter of extra sensitivity to sensory stimulation, normal and paranormal. I've also benefited from prayers and know what a powerful weapon against fear and evil they are, especially with persistance and in the face of malignant forces. Good for you. And keep mindful that sensitivity extends toward the benevolent as well. You have a strong and quick intuition you can count on, proved by your response in this SP situation.
Any more thoughts on it all?
P.S. To JuuJuu: hypnogogia is when you're partly conscious and about to go to sleep...

This could have simply been sleep paralysis. This happens when your mind wakes up before your body, you are aware of your surroundings, but unable to move. Frequently, even though your mind is aware, there are lingering traces of the dream state. That little bit of dream state can cause us to see and feel all sorts of things. Those things are usually very frightening and intense. I think the word for that is hypnogogia. Someone correct me on that if I'm wrong π³.
I've heard people who have experienced sleep paralysis a lot say the best way to get it over quickly is to relax and ride it out. But if prayer works for you, then pray π.
Blessings

OMW, I would have been terrified!
I don't have any experience in sleep paralysis so I can't give you any advice, but I can say that I'm glad you prayed and I believe that light you saw was God and His angels protecting you from this evil/negative energy...
Take care and God Bless! π
